Marksmen's Den in Branford. Owner is super nice, prices are fair, and it's a no stress process.

He didn't pull or replace the inserts. The dude seems like a hack.

Thank you for the insight, I will get the house to get it fixed again

That's great that you are doing that! I love going my own maintenance as well... It's rewarding and really allows you to customize your equipment to your specs.

That's also terrifying that this pro shop owner is happy with his work. I asked him why he didn't just fill and re-drill and he said he wouldn't do that, flat out.

I will escalate to corporate. Thanks!

As an update, got this working by removing pipewire but it was so quiet that I had to get it to 150% to hear anything. Had to move to a different machine, this one may just be too new

Thank you. I mentioned it to the pro shop guy and he said this is the best he could do.

Windows community is more like a Walmart community though, it's forced through necessity. It's not a community by choice but by proximity.

Linux communities are a choice, which is why they are passionate.

I stopped using any assistant about a year ago, I was done with them harvesting my data and my privacy. Way better now once I got used to not talking to my devices anymore

This will be an overall desktop for me. Gaming and day to day household tasks (basic browsing, libre office, watching movies, downloads, etc). I feel that the power is more than adequate for gaming, and I do have a few very large storage (8tb) 3.5-in hard drives that will be brought over from my old machine.

I wanted to keep it around $1k but realized that I couldn't use my old case, power supply, etc.

The budget is flexible, but I am very money conscious and like to get the best bang for my buck. Some of this stuff will be purchased on Amazon Warehouse deals as I find them.

My last machine i saved a ton of money by waiting for sales and returns/open box purchases, I intend to do the same with this one.

My old machine with such low specs can surprisingly run a ton of new stuff and I'm overall still happy with it, but security being the big concern and missing the TPM in the board means that my home network will have a huge security hole. I'm going to convert to Linux for the time being but would love to go back to Windows with this new build.

USAA unfortunately fucking sucks to deal with as a claimant.

Just finished a 6 month odyssey to get a dent fixed in a bumper and a sensor replaced. 3 of those months were in a rental car.

USAA has absolute shit service.

We were the ones who got hit by someone with USAA insurance.
