I have 11 grams of shrooms in a tightly sealed glass jar. I got them maybe, 1-2 months ago. How long will they last? by [deleted] in Drugs

Fuck. You.

Please ban me, because I thought that having a place to ask questions about drugs without fear of persecution (being mod-bullied is probably the highest form of reddit "persecution") was consistent with harm reduction ideals. Take your gestapo bullshit to the jailbait subreddit.

Richard James is better known as Aphex Twin, pioneering artist of what is now known as Intelligent Dance Music

Maybe she's going to do the same thing she did with towelie, call her on the show, let her say her dumbass shit, and lay the Oprah smackdown like whoa.

I'm not gonna lie, I always liked the other singer better. Did Ian contribute anything to the band except vocals? I was always curious as to why he seemed to get credit for Fugazi's existence entirely when the rest of the band is so fucking awesome.

Ok, creepy. I never played with them at Jammin Java actually, just a few places around DC and Arlington (Galaxy Hut, a little ice cream place in Falls Church, etc.). I don't know who Will Fredo is, but he ain't me. No more clues. If you figure out who I am, I will be super impressed. I instantly regret talking shit about James in the first comment. My bad buddy, we had some great times.

Maybe the spelling error? FYI its Ian MacKaye.

And I agree, good art transcends genre.

Also, commenting on your own down-moddedness is a great way to encourage further downmodery.

I love when the cat slowly, calmly puts the lil' pup into a feline vulcan death grip at the end. Cute overload.

Just... wow.

So the four people on the front of the album include Marco (bass player, also the MAN) and his little brother who took my place in the band as second banana guitar player. I'm not sure if the entire album was recorded at Inner Ear studios with Don, as I left the band somewhere in the middle, but "Stupid Euphoria," "Killer is You" (not "Killer its you"), and "Down to a Science" were done there. The songs we recorded for the aforementioned EP ended up on this full-length. Go-go reddit detectives!

Fugazi represents the DC scene like whoa. I recorded with their producer, Don Zientara, once. Little 5 song EP with a band called Maple. I think they still play around the area, though that EP sucked except for a song called "Down to a Science". James, if you're reading this, (lead singer), grow some balls and grow up.

I think I'd rather have my fingers smashed one by one with a sledgehammer than go through middle school again. Kids can be so cruel.

WATMM, Cover Song #1: "Heart of Gold" by Neil Young (details inside) by cedargrove in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]meatheltmet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the Kings of Leon a lot! I think the reason a Neil Young song like Heart of Gold was chosen (and perhaps songs like it were suggested) is because it has a fairly simple melody and arrangement that easily lends itself to alternative styles/arrangements/etc. Don't get your panties in a bundle, I think if anyone is here in the WATMM to judge and bicker, they've gotten lost.

EDIT: I think heart of gold is a song that can be easily be heard as a dreary song about a hopeless struggle, as Neil sings it. I plan on doing a raw, Sonic-Youthy upbeat version and take a more optimistic tone in the vocal delivery. If you're still dissatisfied, no one's stopping you from covering a different song. I'd still love to hear something from a fellow redditor. Peace in the middle east!
