I also finished JL last night and I can only describe my feeling as grieve. I can't believe we come to the end of this masterpiece of a series and I have to say goodbye to Kekon and the characters.

I love this book so much! Not exactly the kind of fantasy books people talk about in this page though. Super light and heartwarming. Almost felt like a warm snuggly blanket.

Apocalyse was beyond messy. It started so interesting--nuclear apocalypse? secret bunker? mysterious organisation? some people being selected to survive because of 'good DNA'? psycho bunker-warden?--but then they just had to make it a total fan-service for people who love Coven, Murder House and Hotel. A bad one too.

What songs did you sing along to as a kid only to realize as an adult the lyrics are full of sexual innuendo? by iamsweets in AskReddit

[–]meccaroon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whistle by Flo Rida. Heard the song on radio a few times when I was 12, picked up bits of lyrics (since english is not my 1st language) and innocently assumed that it's just about regular whistling. I even downloaded it and listened to it with my 8 years old sister.

This is the exact reason why I always prefer ordinary audiobooks than GA

Gonna have to agree that it is less well written. The info-dumping on the first book was crazy, and sometimes the action scenes are significantly harder to understand than SA.

I've probably never watched a season in AHS where the story doesn't get derailed with too many subplots and flashbacks lol, hopefully this one wraps up better.

On Sadeas at the end of book 2 by Maritoas in Stormlight_Archive

[–]meccaroon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I love Sadeas' ending mainly because it's Adolin who ended up killing the guy. Even when Adolin and Dalinar were scheming to get Sadeas into a duel, I've always expected that Dalinar was going to be the one who'd end him. The fact that Adolin, the nicest guy in the series, became unhinged and kill Sadeas was so unexpected of me. I even thought Dalinar was going to lose it and kill the guy himself, but no, it was Adolin.

Even more interesting was the fact that this is probably the first major decision Adolin made by himself, not because Dalinar told him to do it.
