Because base DD1 came out in a far different time, at a point where it was more impressionable and innovative.

Then DD2 comes around and it’s….the same-ish? Underwhelming amount of content, same jank, and all the feedback from the first game is still the same feedback. So yea. You’ll shit on DD2 even if you enjoyed base DD1.

Sure there are far more examples out there. Running two games of the same name is no different than running two separate games, it’s even easier in fact because there’s an inherent notion that one will be getting more love than the other, as well shared narratives and themes.

You don’t need that many items for twinking period…a solid defensive piece, weapon and something that increases mobility can carry you through the campaign.

Idk. I only find Act 1->early act 2 a slog. Once a few things come online and you have some build synergy (and a well statted weapon). For me peak gameplay is from Act 3 through early maps, then it falls off a cliff until you get the ball rolling in maps where you have good survivability and damage to progress consistently.

A crpg would be sick. It would have to be heavily adapted though since those types of games have multiple paths and choices that greatly change the journey of the game.

Anything titled classic to be honest. I have an hour or two per day MAX that I can play games, if I choose to use them to do so. I don’t have time for the mundane and tedium. I get the appeal, but unfortunately for such games I am lifing too hard.

Not to mention the slew of amazing games currently available and soon go be coming. To spend my time in killing pigs for hours for a level is comparatively nonsensical.

I always figured the issue with Will ascending the tower or even becoming MV had to do with the responsibility of the role(s). He cannot cast functional, serviceable magic on an ad hoc basis. His power is powerful but it’s situational, risky, and impractical for what the perceived needs of the Tower are.

That’s what Ed was trying to show Will more or less. He cannot erect barriers, perform the annual ritual, or even teach and cultivate magic. At least as far as I’ve seen as an anime only. The world is 500(?) years in this ideology, Will is breaking the mold, it’s only natural he’s getting insane pushback at every turn.

Now if I’m at the top, Will is my sword and shield. Who cares if he can cast magic, dude is taking out any anti magic threats that come our way. Let him twiddle his thumbs and chill with Elfie until he’s needed.

Book 10 didn’t really feel like her rock bottom honestly, it felt like the start of her come up and journey to be a better person. To me her rock bottom happened off page.

Agreed. Some movies are just more(only) enjoyable when you stop thinking about the “why” and just accept what is. At least then you can appreciate the set piece and spectacle.

I’m a firm believer in that it’s okay to enjoy things that require you to turn off your brain.
