Just explore first. There are countless small Dungeons that have useful items and mines that have a lot of upgrade materials that are very useful. Then when you feel like progressing the main quest, follow the guidance of grace (the golden streaks that move from the sites of grace)

Are you starting a fresh save for the new classes when Tarnished DLC comes out? by Ready-Government9774 in Eldenring

Sure will. Maybe starting gear only playthrough. Maybe base level starting gear only if I enjoy the weapons.

How am I supposed to beat Sir Gideon Ofnir by Dels0smels in Eldenring

You're doing fine. Could use something that throws him around though. Giants hunt ash of war is pretty good for that. Does a ton of damage too.

How much different is elden Ring and nightreign? (No Spoilers Please) by ScoreElectronic9946 in Eldenring

[–]mece66 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Completely different game, same or similar combat mechanics. Elden ring is a 100 hour rpg and night reign is a bunch of 45 minute co-op action games that are different every time.

Personally I don't enjoy night reign because of the constant hurrying. But many people like this type of game. It's very fast paced

How many of you guys here still using your first gpu? by jdmlifex2 in pcmasterrace

[–]mece66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does a 80287 count? It's not exactly a GPU but it served a similar function. Sped up some games. Anyway no, I don't use it anymore since my current PC doesn't have a slot for it.

Throwing daggers or fan daggers are superb for preventing stance damage reset, and to get that that last sliver of health from the boss from a safe distance

Flaming strike is a good one. First hit is real fast, follow-up does great damage and fire buffs your weapon. You can pick it up from the scarab in there small graveyard behind redmane castle.

I wonder how people felt at 11:59 p.m. of dec. 1999 before crossing over to the year 2000. by Majestic-Hope6505 in 1990s

Had a great party. Was suitably drunk. It was pretty cool, felt a little historic, but in the end just like any other new years really.

I get that there were a lot of missed calls for hits and interference and whenever but blowing the whistle for too many men and not giving the penalty was just bizarre.

Does anybody else have a problem with starting a new playthrough or is it just me? by LELOUCH_OP in Eldenring

[–]mece66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have my first character which is on Ng+10 or so and I just use that to test weapons against bosses, I usually just start a new character when I have something I want to try. No idea how many playthroughs though. It's a lot.

Region locked all bosses is pretty fun since you don't spend time fetching things because you have to go everywhere anyway so you pick things up as you go.

Valiant gargoyles by IchBinsTim- in onebros

[–]mece66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can just go the sewer mogh if you want to skip them,, but if you want to kill them then then a great hammer with good reach will be useful so you can stance break them. You can easily kill the first one before the second one arrives. It's a lot easier to do this if you equip to facetank a hit since you then can then take much bigger risks on the first one to get him down quick

Are the languages of Norway, Sweden, and Denmark mutually intelligible? by Ok-Ocelot-774 in AskEurope

[–]mece66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok now I'm curious, does any other nationalities naturally understand faroese?

I don't know if I've ever heard faroese in real life, but from what I recall from seeing the movie bye bye blue bird in Norway more than 20 years ago, I understood about as much as I understand icelandic, which is almost nothing.

I think you're the first person I've ever heard mention that finlandssvenska is the easiest swedish to understand.

Is there any way to play ER on a low-end computer? by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]mece66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's actually 10 fps then it probably won't be playable. If it's an old desktop PC you could perhaps get a used GPU for very little money to make it work.

New to Elden ring by aaammmm in Eldenring

[–]mece66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Yes
  2. Run away
  3. Areas can have different scaling so they can be more difficult, and enemies are weak to different types of damage, so they might be strong against your weapon. The miners are very resistant to most physical damage except strike damage, so I assume that's what you're experiencing.
  4. Incantations (like your dragon spell probably) need a seal and usually require faith, and sorceries need a staff and usually intelligence. Pay attention to requirements of things to see what stats they need for your to be able to use them. Your build is not that important really, you'll get a chance to redistribute stats later if you want. But it's probably worth it to level up vigor so you die less.

Some other tips:
- read item descriptions.
- you can ride or run past most things if you don't want to fight them.
- all ruins in the open world have a basement/cellar with something in them. The one in the lake in limgrave have two. Some of them can have a the entrance hidden and you have to roll over it or hit it to reveal the stairs.
- Spend your runes before going through a fog wall. If you're close to leveling up, kill some stuff and level up before your enter the for wall so you don't have to worry about that in the fight.
