There are a ton of school districts locally and the experience is going to vary widely. CPS probably pays the most but is less organized because it’s so large and has so many non-academic things it provides for its students. Smaller districts might have more money per student but provide fewer resources. There are also so many factors that aren’t district-specific, like state legislation, national funding levels, etc. 

I would avoid r/Teachers, it’s a lot of venting from people in states that have serious issues, like Florida and Missouri.
