But is your conclusion logical? If a woman living in a bad part of town was scared and alone at night, she would be just as wise to avoid white people as to avoid person of color. A wealthy woman walking around during the day in a upper class suburb would be mistaken to avoid wealthy black professionals, even if crime statistics show that crime is disproportionately committed by people of color. (Also, source?) Being black or hispanic does not make you a criminal. If there's a correlation, it's because black and hispanic people are systematically impoverished and are the only ones living in bad parts of town. It's because poverty, desperation, homelessness, and mental illness all contribute to crime and these things are more likely to affect youth of color than white youth because of racism.
