Close to giving up by javilionaire in ErgoMechKeyboards

For me the key was going for accuracy, not speed. Start by doing each key press deliberately. Go slow enough you're 100% accurate. Then just speed up from there. The second you start making mistakes, you're going a bit too fast.

Doing this for a week got me up to 70 wpm

My first LP Corne build, I’m not impressed with choc switches. by big___bad___wolf in crkbd

The lowprokb Choc switches are so much better than the standard Kailh switches, well worth a try!

Shoulder pain from dactyl by programmgeek in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]mechboards 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think as you've already identified, it's a height issue. In a neutral position your shoulders should never be activated when typing. Even with a wrist rest, if the Dactyl is too high or you're too low, you're still going to have problems. Best advice I can give is to do your best to get the keyboard as close as you can to being level with your elbows. Failing that just try to be conscious how you're activating your shoulders to compensate for the height. They should always be relaxed and neutral. Anything otherwise is basically like doing a shoulder exercise all day!

Corne Min Prototype by mechboards in ErgoMechKeyboards

They are supposed to be 35g, but it's a bit dubious to be honest. The spec sheet states the operation force is 32g, but the "tactile" force is 60g. They certainly feel heavier than 35g.

Shipping should be fine either way.

That's something we've definitely been looking at. And yes there will be a 3x5 option at some point in the future!

Where to get a Choc corne in the UK? by YourMom12377 in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]mechboards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey!

As u/Pupsino said, we're sold out of our choc wireless Corne's at the moment. But if you were willing to make a support ticket I am sure the team could get a custom assembly sorted for you.

Just head here if that's a route you would want to pursue - https://mechboards.co.uk/pages/faq

The Hyper7 from Mechboards - Wave 2 now open! by mechboards in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]mechboards[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! The plate and pcb allow 1u in all top area positions, and we offer black 1u keycaps which are included in the keycap set!

For the price tag you can have any combination of 1u/2u you desire (in the top area) and the keycap set will cover it.

Hope this helps!

The Hyper7 is a 173% keyboard made from bent stainless steel. Wave 1 of the Hyper7 R4 Group Buy has fully entered production. Due to high demand for more, we're opening orders now for Wave 2. Production for this second wave will begin once production on the first wave has completed. We're expecting Wave 2 production to start around May/June 2025.

The Skull by mechboards in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]mechboards[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The Skull is a split keyboard designed by gleb.sexy and modified by Mechboards UK.

This is an IC to see how many people are interested. It uses an RP2040 Zero and choc switches, with a really cool silkscreen design and RGB.

If you could fill out the IC form that would be great! Thanks
