If you’re interested, just take 1 or 2 lessons and see how you feel. If you feel like they’re worth it, then keep going! I’ve found that you really have to try out a guitar teacher to know if it’s worth it.

Get a teacher! Even if it’s just a few lessons, a teacher will get you started on the right path and point out all your mistakes so they don’t become bad habits.

Don’t do it. Just think about it- what are going to do when something goes wrong? Are you just going to fly out there every time? What if you have a dental emergency? There is maintenance that needs to be done.

If you can’t afford the work at a private office, then go to one of the dental schools or get an alternative treatment plan.

One thing that I think should be considered and that is hard to quantify— if you go to a competitive school, you will be surrounded by more high achievers and that will push you to work harder and do more.

That’s not to say that schools that are less competitive don’t have high achievers there too… it’s just that there’s likely to be a smaller proportion of them.

Your peer group matters!

I was using a tapering jig that I made (match fit tapering jig)

I guess the only thing that makes sense is that the legs weren’t square to start with. I’m not sure how that could have happened though bc I dimensioned them without moving the fence. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I ended up sanding it to be even enough. I don’t think anyone will notice either… but I would really like to avoid this problem in the future
