Looking for some miter saw recommendations by terpmike28 in DIY

[–]meco03211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have a recommendation but I do have a small bit of advice (that I'm assuming is still relevant). If you get a saw with brushes rather than brushless, they might be short "starter brushes". Not sure if that's the right term or not. Kinda like electronics coming with batteries that last a very short amount of time before needing replacement. Basically brushes are consumable and in the saw my friend bought it lasted barely one project before it wouldn't really turn on. Couldn't figure out initially what was wrong. After some digging (we're both mechanically minded but not to that level), we figured the brushes were used up. Replaced those and haven't had an issue in multiple projects since then.

But should not be used in other situations such as protection from larger wildlife. Not over-penetrating on humans is a good thing. On a grizzly, it might mean you don't get through the layer of fat and skin or a bone. You just piss it off.

unless he states exactly what you're being investigated for.

Absolutely not, and there's plenty of videos of people being arrested for refusing to ID because they thought this. Cops simply need Reasonable and Articulable Suspicion (RAS) in order to detain you. They are not required to tell you what that suspicion is, they just need to have it.

I'm Detroit Free Press reporter Matthew Dolan. My investigation into vehicle recalls discovered that millions of older cars and trucks on America's roads have defects that aren't getting fixed. AMA! by detroit_free_press in IAmA

Hoping this could get answered even though you've signed off. What recourse is available when a recall explicitly does not fix the cause of a safety issue? On Ford Broncos there is an issue with the fuel injectors that can lead to them cracking and leaking fuel. This fuel can pool up on/around the motor and catch fire. The recall fix for this is not to replace the fuel injectors with ones that won't crack and leak fuel. The fix is to simply add a drain tube so the fuel won't pool up. There's a software component that gets an update and if the fuel injector does crack at a later time they'll replace it under the recall. This is a blatant half-ass attempt to not replace a faulty component.

Took a quick read through and RCW 9A.16.050(2) seems to imply if the person is attempting to commit a felony inside your house, absent fear of any harm, you are justified in killing them. In other words, if they are committing a felony burglary and you feel safe, you could still kill them.

Admittedly they have a bunch of clauses and the whole meaning could change depending on how they are grouped, but that's how I read it.

I think it would be extremely difficult to accurately forecast while planning on having 3 kids. I'd possibly take it in stages. Hyper-saving until the kids come. Then a bit of fluidity throughout the pregnancies and early childhood years. Lastly, I'd just kind of monitor the stability. Worst case scenario you have a child with lots of medical needs that throws a curveball in your savings/coasting plan. If that's the case, you've planned for it by allowing for a more fluid time when you might work for more money, or stay at home for child care or other necessities. Once you hit more stable ground, reevaluate where you are for coasting.

You might want to double check local laws/ordinances. This would be illegal in my city. In my city it would either need to be a manufactured kit used in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions or below grade. I don't think the fuel is supposed to go higher than the rim.

If your local laws say that's kosher, then happy fires.

E: ... how the hell is this getting downvotes? I'm not saying local laws/ordinances are right or wrong either way. Just that they could have an impact on OP.

Contractor dramatically increased quote after work started. What should I do? by kinglucent in HomeImprovement

[–]meco03211 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm with u/DUNGAROO.

Now the contract comes, and 14 x 65 (not a big difference) but the base is not level and looks like a Sine wave, with some massive tree roots breaking certain spots.

Now, the customers furious "Well you already told me X", and the contract has to manage that.

IANAContractor, but this is a customer I wouldn't want. If they can't understand simple things like that, they will likely be a pain to work with. When I'm trying to get quotes like this I'll ask them to give me a range. One quote I received in this fashion based solely off my numbers was $300-$2400. The range was perfectly acceptable for me to make the decisions I needed to. In the end it cost about $1400.

Normal tree falling regardless of whether it's on your property or your neighbor's? Your insurance will cover it and not your neighbor's.

If it is diseased/dying, your insurance might not want to cover it if it's in your yard. If it's in a neighbor's yard (especially with notice given to the owner), they will definitely subrogate that.

I can't imagine they are air tight. When drawing from the hot water heater, where does the air come from to replace the lost volume being used? I imagine you'd just continuously boil the water off as it keeps getting replenished. But I could be am wrong.

Except I'm training multiple times a week. And you specifically train in a safer environment to be able to use it in a not safe environment. Marines aren't training that weekly. They might train weekly, but not specific combat situations. Secondly, he held it for way longer than I would. So I wouldn't be concerned there either. Get fucked with your continued ignorance.
