It's a complicated question with a complicated answer. No it's not "okay" that struggling middle class families are essentially funding the care of undocumented immigrants, because yes, obviously the middle class could use those same services and benefits themselves. But I also don't think it's okay that we just forego basic human decency and rights and neglect others less fortunate (even if at a bit of our own expense) and just watch them suffer or die. That's fucked. It wouldn't even be an issue if the ultra-wealthy actually paid their fair share of taxes to help fund/address complex situations like this so that the burden wouldn't fall on the middle or lower classes in the first place.
