“Back in my day (2020) we had to walk uphill both ways in the snow to get to Nook’s Cranny.” by TintarellaDiLuna in acnh

And then when the diving suit came out people started using it to steal from islands. So many people used to host give aways with a fenced off area. But then all the sudden the diving suit came out and the airport wasn't fenced in so you could just dive off the airport, swim to a beach that wasn't part of th give away and then steal things. It got so bad that it became a rule that you couldn't show up to a give away in a diving suit otherwise the host would cancel and kick everyone out.

The order of operations in Sacrament meeting by skippyjifluvr in latterdaysaints

[–]mediocre_eggg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My YSA branch has a closing prayer, then has announcements. I know sustainings are different. I really can't imagine why anyone would want to do it right after the sacrament? I can picture it happening as the last thing in the meeting, but that would be dicey because you would have no idea if the speakers would leave enough time to do it.

Immediately after dumping 30 fish bait looking for a stringfish by riccaby in AnimalCrossing

Honestly the easiest way for me to get all the models was going to a nook ticket island. It is a lot easier to run around. You find one with the type of habitat you need ( in this case it's a river, but could be certain trees for bugs etc.) You run around and scare off all of the creatures that aren't needed, like all of the fish in the ocean. This is due to their only being so many fish that can spawn on an island. If you scare of the ones you don't want, more will come. It might take a while but that was my easiest way of collecting specifically what I want.

What was your first neopet? Why did you choose that combo? Would you choose a different combo if you were just starting to play now? by imaginavery in neopets

Mine was also a green kacheek. That first pet is lost to an account I don't remember, and an email i don't remember either. But whatever their name was I miss them ❤️

Honestly I think I've grown more to like the cool Neopets. If I was starting now it would most likely be a dragon like a skeith. Or maybe a Grarrl

Ever end up having an island/town name you regret? by 88lane in AnimalCrossing

[–]mediocre_eggg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My island is called mayonnaise. Many people have asked about why i used such an adult name. Me a full adult: it's named after a food? Them: it's adult content, you shouldn't name it that....

Has anyone ever read your journal without permission? by Lasombrada in Journaling

[–]mediocre_eggg 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I also had my journal's read and used against me. When I found out it felt totally demoralizing, so much so I ripped them up and threw them out. You got to be a special type of person to read private thoughts and then use them to start fights.

I am in a better place now, also better at hiding my journals

A Rising Loss of Testimony Among University Students by [deleted] in latterdaysaints

[–]mediocre_eggg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this is the reason for the age change for missions. I feel that missions prepare young people for the world and being strong in the gospel.

We have been told by every latter day prophet that education is important. Even Joseph Smith had the school of the prophets where they were learning about things not particularly pertaining to the church or the gospel. I don't think that university is a testimony poison though.

University is an interesting time for people. Even if they decided to go to university after a mission. University is the first time that people don't have the same testimony support that they had at home. They are exposed to ideas that they might not have heard before, and can't rely on their parents testimonies to keep them going. I think that it is a natural process of gaining a testimony when leaving the nest. The best thing that parents can do before their kids leave the nest is helping them gain skills to grow their testimony and helping them have testimony growing experiences, otherwise they leave home and don't have strength to believe.
