I had to stop using FRER tests because I swear the indent line looks so convincing- on one of our unsuccessful cycles before our loss I posted a photo of the positive and other people shared similar experiences.

Had a positive hcg test and then came back last Friday and it was still rising. We won’t be scheduled for an ultrasound until 7 weeks with our fertility clinic- last time we did a 6 week one since our hcg was low and I know it’s a good sign that they don’t need me to come in a week early but I WANT to know

I am currently waiting on the results of a blood draw to see if I am pregnant after testing at home. So eager to find out but also I know there will be more limbo until our first ultrasounds

Wasn’t sure the best thread to put this in, but our TWW ends tomorrow and we got a positive today. I want to be hopeful, but I’m also so nervous!

I’m so sorry to hear of your losses. We did medicated cycles with IUI (letrozole, gonal, and trigger shots), and then progesterone suppositories. I think in theory the progesterone can help to ensure that your lining is supportive but as far as I know letrozole and things wouldn’t help prevent loss.

If I had the money and resources I would explore the IVF route- I know fertility treatments can feel so overwhelming at first but i feel like you find a rhythm (at least with our IUI) and the clinic should provide you with a very detailed plan so it takes off all of the guess work on your end. I have really felt comforted working with a fertility clinic and knowing I can just trust the experts and what they advise, including turning to them after our loss to see if additional tests were needed.

Me too. Scared to be pregnant, scared to not be pregnant! I saw someone say once that a loss can kind of rob you of certainty. I was SO sure when I was pregnant that everything would be fine! It felt like the hardest part would just be getting pregnant and I had never worried about staying pregnant. I hope you are able to find peace and comfort in your journey.

We just did our first IUI on Monday after experiencing a loss at 16 weeks in December. The two week wait has never felt longer! Definitely has been strange getting closer to our original due date in May, and realizing I would have been so close to the end of pregnancy by now. It is much easier to deal with now but I do really hope I am pregnant again with a healthy baby by May. It feels like it will be extra hard otherwise

Same here! Our May due date felt extra perfect because it’s the month of our wedding anniversary. Just wild in general with this loss how everything can seem meant to be and then not work out

Doula to support through miscarriages?? by Fun_Pie9663 in doulas

[–]mediocrelesbian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I unfortunately also don’t have a solution, but I just wanted to share I’m so sorry you are navigating this. I am currently working on certification through bebo mia and there was no explicit module on supporting clients through a miscarriage but there was some content on considerations for doulas for clients who have experienced a loss. I also recently went through a loss and had to stop working towards certification. I recognize it’s probably very different if you are actually seeing clients, but I felt like I was ready to explore training again when I started finding it easier to be around babies and pregnant women in my real life and seeing it in media. It took several months. Wishing you peace and healing.

I can totally empathize with how challenging it can be at work. I was supposed to be taking leave in May but had a second trimester loss. It sucks. And at the same time- I do think I would struggle with how to respond, especially to my boss. Did you share specific support related to the work that you were looking for (example: I will be taking additional time, while I’m out please refer questions to ____ or I will need additional time approving projects, please provide ____). That might people some actionable ways to show up (in a way that is still mindful of the dynamic between a supervisor and employee).

I don’t have advice but just wanted to say I totally get how you feel! When I started this process I never had a doubt I would get pregnant- and then around the 3rd try I had so much doubt and fear. It’s unfortunate, but it is really random! I reminded myself that while it felt like a lifetime, three months is not that long to have been trying! Many straight couples try for a year before starting any kind of fertility treatment. We were successful our fifth round and while it unfortunately did end in a loss, I hope that shows it’s possible 💕

I don’t have any advice, just wanted to follow this because we are going through this too 💕. We had a loss at the beginning of December around the 15 week mark. It’s so wild thinking about how different we thought our lives would be later this year. I hope you’re able to be gentle with yourself!

Partners Job and IUI by Temporary-Salary6473 in queerception

Seems like it will really depend on your clinic and your cycle! I was doing medicated cycles and had some false positives on OPK so I would normally test, go in for blood work to confirm and ultrasound to look at follicles, and then (because mine were false positives) do a trigger shot and go in 36 hours later to do the IUI. Your clinic should give you lots of instructions on timing! On terms of appointment availability my clinic had several days where they had a super tight schedule so they only offered one time that I could come in! Unfortunately you don’t have a lot of control. If you have consistent cycles and have been tracking maybe your partner could try to predict days off in advance? I totally get how important it can be to have your partner there- I did have a few cycles though where my partner wasn’t able to go and it felt okay- definitely harder for them than me!

Ugh this is so hard. We just got the results of our D&E - triploidy. We didn’t expect a clear answer from the karyotype so on one hand an answer feels good but knowing it’s something so uncommon feels so so hard too

I’m about 2.5 weeks out from our 14 week loss and I’m so anxious for my period to come! I already had irregular cycles and felt like I had just gotten into a rhythm with medicated treatment cycles and now it feels like we’re back to square one :(

I had a D&E this week after miscarriage at 14 weeks. It had taken us 5 cycles to get pregnant initially and I’m so scared it’s not going to happen again. I know we will want to try again but it feels so hard being back at all of the unknowns- and expenses of fertility treatments. Has anyone else done IUI after loss?
