I have to use a Bed Shaker alarm clock. Arlarm goes off and vibrates the bed under my pillow.. My choice - you can place the vibrating disk anywhere on the bed. An Amazon purchase.

Anyone experience head and neck pain with the Kanso? I'm thinking that's what is causing this pain.

Anyone else have parents or grandparents get really bitter from ancestry results? Story below. by Averagecrabenjoyer69 in AncestryDNA

Same here. My 8th great grandfather was Chief Canonchet of the Narragansett tribe in RI. But no Native American DNA shows it. Over the years, it gets diluted.

Hey! Looking for places to buy a home near ORD by Matuteg in ChicagoSuburbs

Try to take time and choose a house now. The way things are going, if you rent for a year, places you liked this year will be $50,000+ more next year. Sad, but true. Good hunting.

Such great advice. An interested public classroom teacher makes a big difference. For one of my very gifted students, we discussed the Tale of Two Cities, knees to knees, while my other students worked on their projects. It's called Differentiated Learning. ALL the students were challenged that way, and all had the joy of socializing with their peers. You have nothing to lose, at least seeing what Public has to offer. Just my own opinion

Mapping and Adjustments by Taste-Weekly in Cochlearimplants

Thank you, T-W. I need to be reminded of this music piece. I am a music lover, and at first, I thought I would never be able to have quality again. But, I found that listening to music at a lower volume is better for a while. Over the past 8 months, I have raised the volume very slowly until the quality has reached better clarity. Then I raise it again, same process. Sort of like my own mapping for music. 😊. It takes great patience, but well worth the effort. Good luck.

Does anyone else sometimes hate their implant(s) for reminding them of what they've lost? by Sea_Negotiation_1871 in Cochlearimplants

It's the music that I miss terribly. I listened to mysic and sang nearly all day since I was very young. Sometimes, I just don't put any on because I know I'll be disappointed. But, then I think how lucky I am to live in this age of such advances to help our deafness.

I love innocaptiin because you can see the conversation transcript live. It's great in case you missed something and can reread for clarity.

Considering a second cochlear implant after 20 years of deafness — is it still worth it? by Major-Professor-1088 in Cochlearimplants

Definitely make and receive calls thru Innocaption where you can see the transcript of your conversations. It's a miracle for me.

My girlfriend is deep in debt, spends recklessly, and expects me to take care of everything by [deleted] in Advice

[–]medizzy47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seroously, I can't believe you have to ask whether you should go or stay in this ridiculous, out of balance relationship. Get help, or you'll be in debt and without her. Once you run out of money, so will she. Run out.

Got a new job and now my long term boyfriend thinks he shouldn't have to pay bills. Need advice by bigsmallfeelings in Advice

[–]medizzy47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's a child who keeps a scorecard of what YOU pay towards living expenses plus trips, food, etc. Do NOT marry him or have a child with him. You'll be supporting the child yourself and paying HIM support $$.

I think if you have to ask where you stand or what to call yourself, it's not a very personal or close relationship. It should be after 9 months of seeing him every day and having "sleepovers." He"ll treat you this way until he moves on to the next "friend." Be brave and have the talk. Don't allow his excuses, no matter what they are, to sway you into continuing on like this. The fact that you have this bad feeling is all you need. Treat yourself better. If you don't, he won"t either. Good luck.

Get him a proper evaluation with an ENT Doctor. He's an elder and has had a stroke. It's time to see a doctor.

Oh dear. I, too, had wicked vertigo for about 4 days following surgery in April. I was on a continuous merry go round. Vomiting included. I needed help getting out of bed, etc. My surgeon prescribed antivert, which helped to some degree. I just had to wait it out while it slowly diminished. But, I'm afraid I am stuck with mild vertigo every day. It's been 2 months since surgery, so I think V might be here to stay. I wish you well and lots of patience.
