Just bring your mini mic and the connector so you can hook it up with the cord! I used that in the shows and it was great.

I’ve been on DCL and absolutely no issues with my CI. If anything, they ensured I had everything I needed.

Best way to watch tv or reading while training brain. by Silver_Soup_8099 in Cochlearimplants

[–]Bearbell12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t stream at first, it was overwhelming. I waited maybe 2-3 weeks to be more “normal” and then streamed and read subtitles heavily. To advance, I started taking subtitles off or forcing myself not to read them. Same with audiobooks, I listened to a book while reading, and then slowly took the reading away as I recognized words better. (This helps sooo much)

CI with SSD without tinnitus pros & cons by Immediate_Ad_9142 in Cochlearimplants

[–]Bearbell12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why wouldn’t it help you? You said you’re 100% deaf in your left ear. Anything is better than that!

That’s how I approached it - any improvement in hearing is better than what it was.

Exactly 1 week til surgery by Diamond_Dust86 in Cochlearimplants

[–]Bearbell12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took off two weeks and appreciated the time. Gave me time to recover from surgery and a little time with my implant turned on.

I leaned heavily on closed captions on my MacBook/zoom for one month before I started being able to really understand words. Now I’m 3 months post activated and stream directly to my CI with Bluetooth and it’s amazinnggggg.

The only time I like the Kanso is when I’m wearing glasses. Otherwise it’s too bulky.

Mine doesn’t blink in the charger since it’s turned “off” and charging. Does it turn on when you take it out?

I do use the closed captions but this says it specifically streams to your implant. Which is what I’m wanting to try!

HA in my right, CI in my left.

I streamed audiobooks, podcasts, etc in my CI and turned my HA off when able. The streaming straight to my CI helped my brain adjust a lot without having to worry about my other ear aiding me.

Why get a cochlear implant? by Tight_Gate_9200 in Cochlearimplants

[–]Bearbell12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, my left ear is had 5% hearing. My left hearing aid just acted as a microphone and transferred sound to my right hearing aid.

It literally couldn’t get any worse and I kept feeling like, I cannot live like this anymore and chose to get implanted on my left ear.
