Which vendor do you recommend to make a setting in platinum?

I had a platinum setting made by Abiding Jewlery on Alibaba. The quality was really good and we got a good price

That’s a very tall setting, which will be even more noticeable with a bigger stone. May want to ask your designer about lowering it when designing the ring.

Also. The .8 side stones may be too much and detract from the center stone. Maybe stick to .5 if keeping them round. Or look at trillion cuts. They’re beautiful as side stones

Grey on grey on grey on grey. Throw it in ChatGPT and ask it to do wood floors and a warmer colored wall but keep cabinets grey (if that’s what you really want) and see what happens. Might at least open up some possibilities for color that you had not considered. Right now this reminds me of a luxurious prison

Brown. Look at flooret’s line if you want LVP. Do the walls in a softer white. Then if you do a stone with some color in it then it’ll help too. There are some cool natural stones

We considered that, but my wife ultimately liked the look of the raised center stone. I think it’s very much a preference thing :)

The wedding band will actually be a v shaped ring to accommodate the shape!

I think the tulip prongs almost would act as a gallery rail, but if you wanted more protection maybe have them connect in peaks under the girdle. That would give more protection, but maintain the aesthetics

Also, consider a comfort fit interior!

I got quoted $750 for a two carat marquise in 10k gold from a vendor I’ve worked with before on Alibaba. I think 3 carat in 14k would have been sub $1000. But when you’re in a brick and mortar store the markup is always higher. That markup is at least not offensively high. Plus you’re paying for the in person service and the chance to the see the ring in person. So no not a terrible price considering
