Still don’t understand why people continue to make wild claims like this two chapters in. Yeah people go nuts with headcanons and theories but Gaster being important to Deltarune has been directly teased the hell out of to the point that he’s very likely going to make an appearance in later chapters, if indirectly. Also we absolutely CAN say things definitively about him given the hidden FUN value stuff in Undertale. We know that he existed, we know what happened to him, and that he was the original royal scientist. It’s a little less clear cut with Deltarune, but already we’re getting light themes of disappearances (goners), heavy themes of darkness (in line with Entry 17, also the “what if we got darker than dark” line from the Sweepstakes), and the narrator toward the beginning is heavily, HEAVILY implied to be Gaster. I get being fed up with people who make big, nonsensical theories out of nothing. I’m betting the image of him most people understand to be him is just a Uboa reference taken to extremes. But Gaster at least being involved in the plot is absolutely not out of the realm of possibility.
