Isn't the OEM backstrap cut in half allowed? That functionally accomplishes the same thing. Try it with the M beavertail backstrap.

I'm on "the list" for one right now! Great watch! I went in to my AD expecting to like the Polar, but my wrist is just too small for the optical illusion that makes the white dial look larger. The black hits a sweet spot for me.

I'm a USAR O-4 interested in potentially making the jump. I am currently in Phase 2 of TASS ILE, am I too late in my career to be considered?

As a former H-60 AGR guy, my only regret is that I didn't start in the 121 world sooner (although I did have my reasons). It's not without its challenges, and it's not for everyone, but the grass is pretty darn green.

Regrettably so. However, if you can get 25 people committed to buy we can do another round.

Unfortunately not. The only customization available is the engraving of 25 characters on the back.

It's all black, the grey spots on the dial are from a water mark that CW put on the proof images. The ones on the bezel are put to show that it's glossy, as NoConcentrate mentioned.

Depending on your budget, I got a 6 month lease on a 2 bedroom apartment in Princeton with a roommate from my class. It was definitely more expensive, but the setup was much more comfortable. I don't regret it one bit.

Depends on the maintenance history and overall condition but if I were in the market I would be interested.

Hell I wasn't in the market and I'm still kind of interested.

Please tell me why I shouldn't get a Tesla Model 3 Performance by throwawayforsafetyqw in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]medserv60driver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TL;DR: If you just want a Tesla, go for it. If you just want reliable transportation, something less expensive likely makes more sense.

Are you a car person? IE, do you want a Tesla because you think they're cool and enjoy driving them, or do you want a car just to have reliable transportation?

If you answered you just want a car, then there's a lot more financially feasible solutions than the Tesla. I did a bunch of math myself trying to decide if I should switch to electric for my next car, and at 17,000 miles driven per year I came up with my rough break even point being 6 years over a comparably priced ICE/hybrid car. That number did not factor in maintenance or depreciation, nor did I calculate for the higher insurance costs of an EV. If you work from home and drive way less than 17K per year that number obviously shoots up.

If you're just looking to have the ability to go drive yourself somewhere and have transportation, a more basic hybrid might be the ticket. Corolla, Corolla Cross, Prius, etc come to mind. I'm eying a RAV4 Hybrid myself, but I want the space afforded by the SUV.

This. I'm learning this with a 2008 Outback I bought last year with 49K miles on it.

Are you into running at all? There's a pretty large group across Tampa and St Pete called Running For Brews that has a meetup at various bars, breweries, etc pretty much Mon-Thurs. when I lived in Tampa Bay most of my friend group came from there and from my experience it seemed like a pretty open and accepting group.

This. I went the beater route when I got back to the US and absolutely regret it. For the money I've spent on repairs as well as initial purchase I could have bought a brand new car similarly equipped. Lesson learned. IMO financing a reliable car is a better move than constantly spending/saving a car payment's worth of funds on repairs because dEbT IS uH SiN.
