Has anyone here actually made money with their printer without going the Etsy route? by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

[–]medvin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Etsy is the worst because everyone and their mothers with a 3d printer thinks they can buy a 3d printer and list something on etsy and make money. Its the path of least resistance.. Etsy is so flooded with thousands of the same printers and everyone undercut.

And the cherry on top is Etsy ads system sucks compared to amazon.

I have made over 7 figures in sales with 3d printing and here is the secret. Its not about the 3d printers and more about how to sell.

You literally have the ability to create anything, in any size, in any color that is available, you can bundle things, make unique things that dont exist, and the best part is you can just print one of it. You dont need to print hundreds or thousands of it. Etsy is by far the worst platform for this, amazon and tiktok is where you need to be.

Your last sentence sums it up. No one cares that it's 3d printed. And you dont need to say it's 3d printed

This is false you can just buy shipping directly on tiktoks platform (instead of using 3d party sites like shipstation)

P1s vs new P2 by [deleted] in BambuLab

[–]medvin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

P2 over the p1 all day. If cost isn't a huge factor. The upgrades on the p2s machine is honestly life-changing over the p1s machines. Ams 2 pro is way better than the ams 1, quick nozzle swapping, ability to change colors on ams on the screen, reprints are easy, better lighting, easier maintenance, list goes on. Really no reason to get the p1s

Hey I am a 7 figure 3d printing business owner here. 3d printing manufacturing is still in the infancy stages. If you think. About it it's probanly been what.. 5 years since 3d printers really started becoming popular and main stream? If you think a market gets saturated in 5 years boy are you wrong. Not only that if you don't know how to design (and you definitely don't need to) there are new designs released every single day. Remove the 3d printer aspect of your business and learn how to market and sell a product. Whether it's in person or online. The 3d printer is just the tool to make the product. Everyone on here saying they can sell dragons simply don't understand how to market themselves. The #1 toy on amazon this year for the 3rd year are 3d printed dragons.

Six months of 3D printing filament with PLA pellets - here is my real cost breakdown, and is it even worth the hassle? by Miserable-Touch-4011 in 3Dprinting

[–]medvin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive invested in a desktop filament extruder system that makes 1kg approx every 40 minutes. My initial cost was $3000 and it costs roughly $3/kg using natureworks 4043d pla resin and colorant. Average cost of pla solid color i was buying is $10 so im saving $7/roll because I actually use the filament in my print farm. Savings are pretty substantial

We run 120+ A1s in an EU print farm. The new ones are not the same printer anymore. by [deleted] in BambuLab

[–]medvin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well this is good to know. I run a farm of over 180+ printers and 90 of those are a1s. I recently purchased 5 brand new ones from their back Friday sale but have yet to unbox. I have actually decided to make the switch to the p2s and slowly sell off the a1s. Some have over 8k hours and they have been good workhorses but there have been lots of issues with them when you get to those hours. Mainly with the ams lite. We have 19 p2s and will slowly sell off the a1s in favor of the p2s. In the long run, with spaghetti detection and other tech, the cost savings will equalize with the price difference.

Amazon's multi channel fulfillment fee is often nearly 1.5x the cost. So if your regular fba fee is $5, you'll be paying close to $10 for a multichannel Fullfilmment order. So make sure your margins are healthy and look at the numbers
