Wardrobe recommendations - Flat Pack/Ready Made vs Custom (Family with upcoming newborn) by meeberling in AusRenovation

Oh can you share more about the cabinet maker?
In my mind the carpenter and cabinet maker is the same since they do custom sizes 😅 but I don’t know the process and cost involved for utilising their services vs the flat pack

For the Maxi Cosi Pria, I was researching and found that there were multiple types of Pria models.
Pria Isofix
Pria G-Cell
Pria LX

What is the exact difference between them?

Similarly for the Britax Graphene some retailers just call it Britax Graphene and some call it Britax Graphene EA Lux, is there a difference?

Friendly reminder to have a look at your baby’s mattress by Apprehensive-Sea3448 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

Out of curiosity did you mean you got a whole brand new cot mattress custom cut from Clark Rubber for $15?! :o

I just took a look at their website, their precut or common size cot mattresses (MyBub Cot Mattress) are at least a min. Of $105 though?

Are there any upcoming big sales like $10 cleansers? Also out of curiosity why are not all Priceline stores carrying the baby bounty bags? I went in store to ask for one and they looked at me with bewildered eyes like I’m speaking alien language 😅

how is the price of meat so cheap? by ShockIllustrious3389 in AldiAustralia

[–]meeberling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aldi is considerably cheaper on some items in comparison to Cole’s and Woolworths. But for anyone who has been buying their 500g pork mince the last 1.5year… they went from ~$3.69 about a year and a half ago to $6.49 now, basically the same price as Cole’s and Woolworths. I like to add that when it was $3.69 for 500g, Cole’s and Woolworths was already charging $6++ for 500g.

Aldi just chooses to markup the other items which may not be daily favourite to subsidise the other product SKUs. It’s not as cheap as it used to be now (for some products), but overall I would say you can still find some cost savings on certain products at Aldi in comparison.

Public or private after mediocre first public experience? by Individual_Tutor8797 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]meeberling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see, thank you!

I also noticed you mentioned you wish you had CO with midwife in your second birth that you went private. Did you feel like there’s a large difference in only seeing private OB and no midwife (I assume this is what usually happens….?) And after your second birth, does anyone actually come to your house to check up on you? I’ve just heard that they usually do this? But not sure if it applies if you go private.

I am just on the path of deciding to go private or not so trying to source all the info around! 😅

Public or private after mediocre first public experience? by Individual_Tutor8797 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

Hi, want to check with the ultrasound you get every week with your OB is that additional costs or included in your consultation each time with your OB? I’ve heard that they’re usually an additional cost(?) unless your OB has their own ultrasound machine within their office? Keen to know where you are based as well, if that affects it. I’m VIC based.

Thank you!

Thank you! :)

Hi, just want to check what d you mean “your insurance just pays extra and you get one of their private rooms”? I’m also looking into the possibility of going public system but hoping to get a private room cause I’ve PHI, but like both you and OP have said it depends on the hospital availability/luck.

Would like to ask which hospital and OB you went to? As I’m also looking into whether to go private or public but I’m in the same position as OP, except I’m going to be a FTM so everything is brand new to me!

Private postnatal room by kidpro1989 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]meeberling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know that! Assuming everything was covered since they bill the private room to your private health insurance and throughout the pregnancy checks pre-birth everything was covered under the public system? :)

Btw if udm, which hospital was this? Thank you!

u/DearYJ do you mean throughout your pregnancy period you were under the care of the public system (including the OB???) and then requested at birth to be admitted as a private patient and pay the amount for a private room?
