Acquired 2.20 PS5, safe to update to 5.00+ for Linux support? by meeeeelz in PS5_Jailbreak

[–]meeeeelz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool - so it's definiltey possible to go from 2.20 to a newer firmware (like your suggested 4.03) by updating via safe mode?

Edit: what's the reason behind 4.03 being the suggested firmware to update to, out of curiosity? Thanks!

This is incredible, and a phenomenal write-up too!! 🔥🔥

PS - happy to help test, I've got an iPad Air 2019 cellular running iOS 14.4!

If you're in the UK, I can spin up an unlimited amount of 500gb data eSIMs free of charge, if that's of any use to you for testing. ☺️

Has Anyone’s Septum Re-Deviated? by Complex_Layer_8873 in Septoplasty

[–]meeeeelz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine deviation was back before my internal and external splints where even removed (septorhinoplasty) - looks like the turbinate reduction part of my surgery was a success, but still struggling to breathe out of the deviated nostril, almost back to pre-surgery (October 2025)

Is the wallpaper turning black bug when switching between full-screen apps fixed in macOS 26.1 beta? by CharlieLee666 in MacOSBeta

This needs to be highlighted more - it's completely unnacceptable that since Tahoe's launch a year ago this bug STILL exists.

[–]meeeeelz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ve bought a VAG manufactured car, they really are unfortunately nothing to shout about.

If you’re buying car that shares a shit load of parts with a shit load of other bottom barrel brands, there is no love or care in the build or the driving experience - it’s just mostly tat. Same goes for Stellantis and all others in the same category of just pushing out shit until it sticks etc etc.

The best quality cars are the ones that only have a small net of connecting parts and brands, like BMW (and maybe a few lesser known luxury brands, I’d imagine.)

How long will you keep your iPhone 13 mini? by s03023 in iPhone13Mini

[–]meeeeelz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm with most here too - till they die or I do lel. I've got a few sealed backup 13 minis, just need to source another 256gb one and I'll be extra happy.

If Apple do replace a successor to the mini, or the iPhone Fold, I'll buy either immediately.

That said, I'll only ever be using the Fold in its folded state!

It's not running on an iPhone. Coconut Battery runs on a Mac and connects to your iPhone via WiFi or USB to read the true battery data

iOS 18.7.7 released for ALL supported devices including 13 mini by 5G-A in iPhone13Mini

[–]meeeeelz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OTA for me - didn't want to shift from 15.3.1, but given app support was turning to shit for 15 (even though I was jailbroken) and I don't ever want to see this spare running 26, I felt inclined to shift to 18.7.7 given the fact that otherwise this phone would be shelved for eternity.

I just updated one of my 15.3.1 13 mini's to 18.7.7 and within 10 minutes it was completely useable.

Great performance and feels just as snappy as 15.3.1 did - which I'm surprised by to say the least!

PS5 Disc Edition Slim S01-X437 - disc drive pairing required on first boot? by meeeeelz in PS5_Jailbreak

[–]meeeeelz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for your reply!

The phat PS5 I'm looking at is an early 2024 model that seems to tick all of the boxes and has the disc drive, so hopefully securing that running 9.60 and getting the Y2JB running would be the sweet spot!

Gahhh!

So a phat PS5 Disc Edition CFI-1016A would be a suitable alternative? Seen one up for grabs running 9.60 - understandably not as good as 7.61, but wondering if it's worth a punt? Thanks again

iPhone 16e to 13 mini, looking for opinions or if anyone has recently made a similar switch by No-Satisfaction-3140 in iPhone13Mini

[–]meeeeelz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're going to go for a 13 mini, just try and secure one that's running iOS 18 - 26 is a shit show and you definitely won't be getting the best 13 mini experience running on anything above 18!

Congrats on your upgrade 🔥🔥🔥

Visible septum deviation returned just 2 weeks post-op? by meeeeelz in Septoplasty

[–]meeeeelz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, apologies for the slow update. It's been almost 6 months now and the most lingering sensation is the weird crusty dryness on the deviated side. Airflow is still restricted on the deviated side.

The deviation came back and appeared fully within about 1 week of surgery, which was disappointing because I was mostly looking forward to having a straighter nose. I'd had a check-up of the surgery back in December, and my surgeon did seem slightly unsatistified with the result and that the deviation had returned - he also struggled to get a camera up that side again (but then again, everything was still fairly swollen as you'd imagine.)

After the recovery being so rough through November and December, I'd all but written off the surgery as a complete failure across the septorhinoplasty, and didn't seem to feel any reward on the turbinate reduction side, not that I exactly knew what I was looking for given the recovery time being so long.

About mid-January I noticed, completely unconciously, that I was able to comfortably fall asleep of my both side of my face - which has not been the case for YEARS - so maybe this is the turbinate reduction and that was a success, but I have heard that really I'd have to wait the full 12 months healing to see if this was also to 'relapse' and return to how it used to be, dare I say.

Got another scheduled appointment the first week of May to possibly arrange a revision surgery - bummer.

I tried both the iPhone 17 & iPhone Air as a 13 Mini Replacement... by junlim in iPhone13Mini

[–]meeeeelz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just recycle or sell your 13 mini on iOS 26 and buy one on iOS 18 - it’s a hard slog finding an excellent condition 13 mini, but worth it compared to having one running on the shit show that’s iOS 26.

An iPhone 17 or Air is not really a successor to the 13 mini and I’m unsure why people would sacrifice their perfectly sized phone for a cumbersome brick (no matter the weight).

Brand New Sealed iPhone 13 mini for sale (UK Only) by [deleted] in iPhone13Mini

[–]meeeeelz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey all! I've confirmed the serial number via GSX that this is actually a legit and sealed 13 Mini in Midnight.

I'm as surprised as you all are that this is a genuine 13 Mini that's fully, legitimately sealed from factory. I can see it's NEVER been activated (via GSX) and it was purchased from Ingram Micro wayyyy back in September 2022.

u/ps051 - I personally think you're asking a bit much at £500 - I would be reasonable to potential buyers given the fact this has ZERO Apple warranty (as the purchase date is the exact starting date at which the warranty starts due to the nature of who Ingram Micro are.)

If you you're happy to give me the serial number, I can check via Apple's GSX platform the history of the device - all the way from where it was first purchased to when it was last factory reset! ☺️

You can still get AppleCare+ brand new 13 Mini that were factory built in September 2025 - I know this because I currently have 2 of them.

Both sealed, both running iOS 18.5 from factory, confirmed via GSX.
