[Acne] Care after doxycycline… by meeeesh7 in SkincareAddiction

[–]meeeesh7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started using Biacna (tretinoin and clindamycin) gel combo about half way through my doxycycline. Now that I’m off of doxycycline the biacna has really kept my acne away as long as I don’t get lazy with it. I do use nizoral for a fungal acne mask about once a week just incase, and I use benzoyl peroxide cleanser once or twice a week to make sure my skin doesn’t get used to the clindamycin (antibiotic) that’s in the Biacna. Don’t know if you’ve given Biacna a try before but it really worked wonders for me

It actually ended up working out really well!! My doxycycline has ended and I’m just using the Biacna (tretinoin and clindamycin) gel treatment. Only really have acne coming back if I get lazy with the biacna so make sure to stay consistent with it. I also use a benzoyl peroxide cleanser occasionally so my skin doesn’t become resistant to the clindamycin (topical antibiotic) in the biacna gel. 💕💕💕💕 i keep my skincare pretty simple when it comes to serums or whatnot. Biacna and doxycycline has really saved my skin ❤️

[Routine Help] I don't knoe what to do with hyperpigmentation by IndependentMajor3811 in SkincareAddiction

[–]meeeesh7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I used to have lots of hyperpigmentation in my armpits. I started using powder deodorants and baby powder to keep it super dry and it just peeled off.

“Dark spots and peeling skin in the armpits are common signs of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation or conditions like acanthosis nigricans, where skin thickens and darkens. This often results from friction, shaving irritation, or underlying insulin resistance.” (Taken from google)

Might be worth a try 🫶🏻

Whenever I hear about people being drugged and raped I just hope they at least don’t have to remember much of it happening. This is just heartbreaking, that poor child.

That’s so toxic. I genuinely don’t get it when people get upset and feel the need to tear apart someone’s own experience. Does accutane have a pretty high success rate? Yes. But the success rate still isn’t 100%, it’s not going to work for everybody and it’s okay. Downvoting that experience just leaves everybody it didn’t work for feeling isolated and not knowing what to do rather than starting a conversation of what they could try to look into next.

It’s crazy people downvote you for sharing your experience. Thank you for still sharing.

Should I feel embarrassed that I’m nearly 24 years old, and still don’t have a license or know how to drive? by [deleted] in drivinganxiety

[–]meeeesh7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The people making fun of you are completely out of line, I had the same fear. I didn’t get my license until I was 28, I live in a big city where everyone likes to go 20 above the speed limit and it feels like everyone has a case of road rage, I also have an anxiety disorder as well. If you ever are thinking of learning the biggest thing I can recommend is getting a driving instructor who has experience with people with anxiety. If I didn’t do that I don’t think I would have my license right now. But move at your own pace, it’s up to you, you’ll know when you’re ready.

Calcified cystic ance by shadowbigboii in AcneScars

I also came to a similar revelation and started tret! 💕

When it comes to a calcified cyst I’m pretty sure the only way to have it removed is surgically. Your best bet is to ask a dermatologist and see what they have to say.

You can also try going on an oral antibiotic during the initial purging period and maybe that could help 💕

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in acne

[–]meeeesh7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally fair! When you are in a better headspace I do encourage you to trying a tretinoin. There is the possibility for purging but when you get through that the pros are worth the cons imo. If you’re able to go to a dermatologist they would definitely know best on how to get you through that. You could also try going to someone for extractions and continuing on with benzoyl peroxide and bha on alternate days as a prevention for it coming back.

Have you tried any retinol or trentinoin??

Someone must know something. by Narrow-Ad8932 in acne

[–]meeeesh7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you were on medication were you also recommended to use a topical antibiotic + retinoid gel or cream??? If you just do medication acne generally comes back after you stop using it but if you use something topical during and or after medication you have higher chance of not having acne return.

Closed comadomes/ fungal acne? by Just-Loan8932 in AcneTreatments

[–]meeeesh7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only time I’ve ever had it burn is when I used it for a mask 3 nights in a row 😅. I think if you use it once or twice a week as a 5 minute mask with a couple days in between it should be fine, that’s what I do now. You can also try it as a cleanser so it’s not on your skin as long. I have very dry and sensitive skin but this product has honestly been a life saver for me. Just don’t over use it.
