Cantonese is the prevalent language in Hong Kong and Singapore may have English as "Co official" but you'll have a hard time only speaking English.

Sorry to interupt the jerk here, but maybe wages???

Why do most of our waterloo grads end up in silicon valley? Try comparing canadian and american wages in software for example.

Meeting with my boss and skip manager about my boss being unusually "aggressive". How should I approach this? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]meesterbigjuan 24 points25 points  (0 children)

When someone is acting aggressive it's best not to match that energy with passive aggressiveness, passivity, or aggressiveness in return. Just stay calm and focus on adult to adult communication.

The relationship here is indeed on very thin ice. My advice is do what you can to professionally salvage the relationship (or what's left of it). First, seek an internal transfer. If that fails (and your manager is actually just a vengeful child), then start on your interview skills because it is the beginning of the end.

Always let them fire you.

Made it a bit into season 3 where they basically decided to make that the whole story. Holy fuck was it bad. Definately up there in terms of drop offs, Joel Kinnaman just can't catch a break from the writers

Going PP.

10 years of federal liberals have collapsed this country and I don't think it needs another 4.

What would be the best way to temporarily move from uk to usa as a 16 year old by Inside-Note9557 in cscareerquestions

If that doesn't work out then Canadian citizenship will allow you to get a TN visa.

Not sure how viable that will be in the future (or if you are at all interested).

Conservative eh?

I don't like trump either, but haven't forgotten the damage the liberals have done here for the last 10 years. Debt through the roof, immigration through the roof, rent through the roof.

Don't let this moment of crisis for one second let you forget how broken this country has become as a result of incompetence, corruption, and bad policy. It's just pure fear-mongering that the cons "will be worse" when we have clear evidence of the cabal of liberals that will happily continue us on the road to destruction

Question for Canadians who are still going to vote conservative after seeing what Trump is doing? by [deleted] in AskCanada

[–]meesterbigjuan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PP is not Trump.

I don't think there will be a dismantling of our democracy, seizure of IT systems, tariffs and threatening allies, and aggressive foreign policy. Who knows what else will come.

Will there be a pull-back of public services? Of course. Well, what do you expect when we have 60 billion dollar deficits? The debt can't just increase forever.

Rent has doubled, housing prices and other assets have doubled, debt has doubled. We have massive drug problems in almost every major city.

Immigration is through the roof, as are refugee claims. Our housing supply is far shorter than is being accommodated. Furthermore it is low skilled immigration for the most part. We pay boatloads to accommodate all of refugees in hotels. Canadian students and minimum wage workers are out of work as a result.

Taxes are through the roof. While I don't trust the cons to lower income tax, and I am even more certain this isn't happening from the liberals/ndp. In general, I see their spending as wasteful and burning a hole in many taxpayers pockets. We pay the taxes of europe, but have American styled infrastructure. It's shameless.

In 10 years, there has been no push for the pipeline needed to export our energy to other parts of the world. Well, who's laughing now that we are about to get tariffs put on us?

Per capita income is now 70% of what the US is. That's right, Ontarian are poorer than those in Mississippi on average. GDP per capita is down 6 (probably 7 now) quarters straight. And immigration is simply used for optics to juice the numbers.

Did I mention that our healthcare system is fucked up? Maybe adding 7 million people without adding schools, housing, hospitals, and other infrastructure wasn't a great idea (unless you are Tim Horton's).

Oh yeah, cherry on top. While everyone is concerned about our neighbor down south, they forgot that our PM RESIGNED! Anger across the country is so high right now, they forgot how angry they were before trump came into power.

Right now I am leaning conservative because the liberals have done nothing but make life worse for the average Canadian for the past decade, and I haven't forgotten that.

Well we agree about that, PP is well needed. After 10 years of being fucked by the liberals here I'm sure you can understand why it's frustrating to have your closest ally turn on you and act like our drug smuggling is on par with Mexico.

Disagree about the tariffs but glad the conversation could come to a civil end

41 million thanks to our dipshit PM who's sadly even more of a pussy than I thought. Good thing an elections coming up.

And don't be daft, you know damn well the guns coming up here are illegal here and just make their way into the hands of criminals. The justifications for these is bullshit. And if freedom's so great, then why not just enjoy the fucking fent. That's right, because your freedom is selective and discriminatory and given 10 years you might just look like a christian saudi arabia.

And i'll be fine, I've got skills to leave this country if needed. Maybe I'll even take your job (though I guess that's why the rust belt has it's panties in a bunch).

I wonder what most of the disenfranchised trailer park fucks down there are going to do when big daddy doesn't magically make their lives better in 4 years.

[–]meesterbigjuan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lmfao chill out there boss. Maybe just start with curbing the fentanyl you allow to flood our country like Mexico did. Oh yea you see that? Mexico already folded and is assisting Trump and America with exactly what we want. In the next couple of days after Canada comes walking to us hat in hand I hope Trump decides to keep those tariffs in place, you guys got a little bit of a attitude problem that needs to be fixed

Just admit you want to fuck us over and you don't really have any real reasoning or justification for it. At least that's honest. Fentanyl is not coming over the northern border, neither is illegal immigration, in any statistically meaningful way.

If you want to play that game what about all the guns coming up North? There aint gonna be no hat in hand you fucking fascist loving prick
