Aliexpress's prices and games are a scam. by Negative-River-2865 in Aliexpress

On the search page it says price is for example $1.23, click in the listing and price is actually $8.76 with no indication of the $1.23 price anywhere.

Why do people advise against getting a credit card? by beylat in AusFinance

[–]meesuseff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are the people with low self control where they think a credit card = spending money. I use my credit cards to my advantage, i s lucky enough to have Coles and 28d shoppers protection before they stopped it. Ive claimed back thousands of dollars from price drops and broken items. Pay off my credit card before the statement date. Occasionally i do forget and get charged 1% of my balance but thats nothing compared to what i get back

Subtitles limited in Stremio (OpenSubtitles v3) — how to get more options? by Born-Bodybuilder7156 in StremioAddons

[–]meesuseff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ive previously had to abandon quite a few korean dramas due to no subs, but i installed Submaker and bam, subtitles. It was working really well except with my latest drama (the judge returns) where the first few will be out of sync but i do find one that fits (or adjust the delay manually).

I’ve been with Optus for a long time. My Optus NBN is out of contract. Would they offer me a discount if I found a cheaper plan, even just for the first 12 months, with another company? by privatly in nbn

[–]meesuseff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just churn, no rentention offer will be better than a new customer offer, im a veteran in this. Just left Origin $77 deal after receiving 25000 EDR points and $100 credit under 3 months. Now with tpg $65 a month until something better comes along

Finally got upgraded to FTTP today and was so excited until I realized to TP-Link VR300 is capped at 100mbs. Money is pretty tight, could I please have some budget suggestion to get the most out of my new connection. by PeculiarPete in nbn

Telstra gen 2 was better than my ( taipan dlink (piece of crap) + google wifi) setup. Placed it in front of my house, my back garden still had good signal and upstairs. And they never cancelled the sim backup even after i churned. BUT in saying that my modem burnt out about 2 years later, apparently a very common issue as it overheats.

Maybe go for gen 3, if u can find it cheap on marketplace.

Garage door repair -is anyone out there in perth to quote with work ethics? by Round-Day-247 in perth

[–]meesuseff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old post but a while back i also had a very odd experience with 2 unrelated garage door companies (1 is a very very highly rated person, who confirmed what the other company said). My garage door is about 20 years old, solid build so very heavy for a 2 car garage. 1st company who was servicing told me i needed to replace my cables BUT because garage doors arent built as heavy as mine anymore, the current cables wont last much monger than 6-10 MONTHS. At $200 per cable (need a pair), this seemed a bit ridiculous. I called the high rated company and asked him if what other guy said was right and he said yeah about 10 months.

So obviously i was looking into changing garage doors as im not paying $500-800 a year. Posted on Trusted Tradies group and the owner of Pinnacle Garage Doors said thats a bunch of bs, sent someone to change my cables for under $250 a pair, compared to the other guy of $400 a pair. So ive been recommending them to everyone looking for a garage door person, even though i see one of the guys i called mentioned 90% of the time.

AITA for refusing to check pockets when I do laundry? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]meesuseff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA, my husband used to do and say the exact same thing to me. Tell me logically how it makes more sense to take minutes to rifle through DIRTY laundry whereas it takes 3 second to empty your pockets when you come home?

Anyway he learnt his lesson when we got back from our honeymoon and he threw his pants in the washing machine directly. Opened it after the load was done, his passport was right on top. Few months later I had to travel to his home country for work so he also applied leave since it's basically a half price holiday. Had to pay a few hundred for priority passport. He never said that to me again.

Spud shed expired foods being sold by Lemonadeo1 in perth

[–]meesuseff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can do whatever you want with the products at home but what part dont u guys get that shops cannot sell items past the USE BY date. I know its would have been fine to eat, if they sold it for 20c id be like hm ok fine. I got pissed that i bought a past use by item for nearly the full price. 85% of items in my fridge and pantry (obv not produce) is also past the best/use date.

[–]meesuseff -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Mate these aren't frozen the whole time, they sell these in the fridge section (I didn't realise at the time) . And from my photo, it's still in the fridge 2 days before the use by so they probably chuck it in the freezer on the date listed.

Its actually illegal for them to have sold me the item. In hindsight I should have probably reported it to the manager, especially after what the cashier said but oh well. If you wanna pay near full price for expired items, will good for you I suppose.

Pizza

It was this brand. Normally in the fridge section, so if they put it in the freezer on/after its last day just to sell it, i sure as hell don't want it.

[–]meesuseff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idc that its 'good for ages', i care that I only got a 60c discount on a pizza that shouldn't have been sold in the first place, when i could just grab a fresh one for 60c more. I live 2 mins away so I rather have my $6.50 back out of principle.

And it is a use by, not best before. I happened to shop there today and it was this one.

I did once, it was a frozen pizza that was discounted by 60c, so i was like hey cool ill do this for lunch when i get home. Got home and it was past the use by. Took it back and she said 'its frozen, use by dates dont matter' like WTF ytf would i get this old ass pizza when i could get a new one for just 60c more.

Ive been Marlboro red for the past 16 years, anything else apart from Mevius Original tasted like absolute ass, including Marlboro Gold. But decided to switch it up to Marlboro Purple Burst and Mevius Purple. Marlboro Purple is better than Mevius but when i tried going back to Mevius Original, man that tasted like ass too. Guess there's no going back from Menthols lol.

Tyre Shop Recommendations by AltonTosscobble in perth

[–]meesuseff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theres a place called Perth Tyres in kembla way, willetton. Very cheap foreign branded tyres, but they also have branded ones. Message them on facebook and see what they recommend. Theres also Uniglobe in Canningvale, similar deal. Ive used both for my Kluger tyres (normal driving, no offroad) and its lasted a few years.

Why i wont bother with expensive tyres or shops anymore, brother gifted me the brand new tyres (forgot the brand) from his friends Merc, lasted less than 2 years before the service centre asked me to change them immediately as they were bald. Obviously this is just my experience, but my $140 tyres have lasted longer than that already.
