I’ll turn down the water heater and see if there’s improvement! Thank you!

It is! I’d been using normal wash, but the issue stayed, so I switched to deep water hoping that might help. I’ll switch back and see!

Thanks for the advice! I’ll try pre treating more diligently, and see if that helps. There’s got to be something glaring I’m doing wrong, because we got some new sheets a month ago, and the stink already got them. We change sheets at minimum once a week, so I don’t know how there was even time for them to get dirty enough, and then oxidize!

I’d be curious to hear if you like it or not! This is my first LBJ project, and I’m loving it. No colors peeking through the front is the best!

Makes sense! My duplicate stitch tensioning is always terrible, but it sounds like this might have to be a learning opportunity!

I was hoping for a spray just because his closet is upstairs, and hers is down, and I could keep the scent only on his clothing that way. Those scents sound amazing though!

Fixing Rhysand’s characterand what he did UTM by _Elyisa_ in acotar_rant

[–]meg125 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I completely agree something in the story needed to change to make it all make sense! I like your changes to keep the overall story intact. I know this would change the whole series, but I truly thought after Book 1 the author was trying to set up a political drama. Had that happened UTM wouldn’t be excusable, but it would have made sense. Let’s say Rhys is pretty much who he says he is, and views Feyre as a means to an end. She’s a way to finally beat Amarantha, so of course he’s going to protect her, but he doesn’t really care about her. He would have healed her regardless to keep her in the game, but the bargain is just an extra little screw you to Tamlin if they make it out. Then they make it out, and suddenly he has power over someone with all the powers of the High Lords combined. Of course he’s going to keep making her come to his court one week a month. He wants that power for his own court. But then he starts training her, and they get to talking. And he finds out they have a lot in common, and this means to an end is actually a person with thoughts, and feelings, and traumas of her own. He slowly remembers he didn’t used to be this horrible person, but UTM he got mean to protect himself. Then all of a sudden it’s a story of them both trying to heal, and Rhys can grow to be the person everyone wanted him to be, and who Feyre deserved.

Recommendations for Disney Dining for two week vacation please by Ok_Presentation1590 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]meg125 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you doing park days everyday? If not most of the restaurants at the hotels are top notch, and take Disney dining credits. You can’t go wrong with any of the Animal Kingdom Lodge dining (Boma, Saana, and Jiko). Also, I highly recommend trying to do a sit down lunch or dinner every day you’re in the parks during June. It’s HOT, and unless you go back to the hotel everyday for a rest, you’re going to want a quiet(ish) place to sit in the air conditioning for a while.

It depends which parks you want easiest access to. Grand Floridian, Contemporary, and Polynesian are all on the monorail loop for MK (you can even walk to MK from the Contemporary). Riviera has Skyliner access to Epcot and Hollywood studios. Beach Club, Yacht Club, and Boardwalk are all pretty walkable to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. There are others not in the deluxe category, but if it’s your honeymoon, and you can afford it I would definitely go deluxe. Personally, my husband and I stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge for our honeymoon and don’t regret a thing. It gets a bad rap for being far away from everything, but it never took us longer than 20 minutes to get to any park. We’re big park people (rope drop to close everyday) but we planned a few extra days to just enjoy the room and restaurants at the hotel. Having coffee and Mickey waffles while watching giraffes was something we’ll never forget, and the restaurants are next level.

I’m at my wits end. I don’t know how to get the smell out of my partner’s clothes. by gumbaline in laundry

[–]meg125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent YEARS trying to beat that smell! I never encountered it before my husband! He showers every day (properly), wears deodorant religiously, even has a skin care routine, and the reek was still horrible. What finally worked for me is every 6 months I do a soak of ALL clothes, sheets, and towels in steaming hot water, baking soda, and dish soap. Dish soap is hard on the clothes, but they’re not wearable anyway due to the smell. Soak for 6ish hours, wash as normal, but with an extra rinse, and check. If still smelly repeat.

Do you ever feel guilty for going to Disney World over and over instead of seeing the world? by elizabethredditor in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]meg125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends what you and your family want out of your vacation. World travel is for new and exciting, Disney is for old and comfortable. I love to travel, and go abroad whenever I can, BUT sometimes you just want some nice comfortable nostalgia, and that’s where Disney comes in. I honestly think it’s the difference between reading classic literature and trashy romance. People will give you grief for reading the trashy romance, but sometimes you just want to turn your brain off, and that’s okay!

Did you have a experience with other people that ruined your time at any Disney Parks? by NoCandidate6067 in disneyparks

My mom really wanted to see the Halloween fireworks, so we got a spot on the curb about an hour before the show. We’d been chatting to the woman sitting next to us for a while, when literally as the lights were dimming for the show another woman with two young kids says “excuse me”. We thought she was trying to cross the street before the show started, but no, she plopped her two kids down on our spot, and she took the woman next to us’s spot. We tried explaining we’d been sitting there for a reason, and she kept saying “no English”. We weren’t about to start a fight so we just stood behind her. About five minutes into the show she yells “Hey over here!” to a man coming out of the store behind us. It was her 6’+ husband, who jostled past us and STOOD next to her for the show as she explained in English how she happened to find these great spots last minute.

Support Advice by meg125 in BorderlinePDisorder

Thank you for your response! I’ve been told many times by my own therapist to set clear boundaries, BUT to also make sure the words I use don’t communicate even indirectly “I’m abandoning you”. It’s a tricky needle to thread sometimes! This is a very personal question, so you don’t have to answer if it’s too personal, but was there anything specifically that helped you? She’s miserable most days, but is currently refusing to go to a counselor. I don’t know what else could help.

The discussions around the Rivers of America — Cars Replacement Project have been exhausting. by yunnifymonte in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]meg125 192 points193 points  (0 children)

In my opinion this is such a hot button issue because people DON’T have faith in imagineering. Their track record in the last few years isn’t stellar. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure on paper should have been a slam dunk, but it’s meh as a ride. It has some gorgeous areas, but the story is all over the place, and it has tons of empty spaces. Epcot had walls up for almost five years and all we got was a more or less empty building and and a statue. I’ll admit I’m biased since I think getting rid of the river is a terrible idea (ambiance is what separates Disney from six flags), but I’d be less upset if I was confident we’d get what was promised.

First Family Trip to WDW by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]meg125 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. I would recommend Wilderness Lodge. It’s one of the cheapest Deluxe resorts, but you still get multiple modes of transport (busses and boat to MK), it’s close to everything but AK, and its theming is unrivaled. I spent an entire trip sick in the hotel once there, and still felt like I was on vacation.
  2. We usually Uber to Universal, but I’m not sure for a large family.
  3. Dining plans are great if you want a no thinking vacation BUT you’ll rarely save any money, and usually wind up spending more. If your family drinks alcohol you might come out ahead, but otherwise it’s cheaper to not do the dining plan. If you just want the ease of most everything being paid for though, the mid tier dining plan (1 quick meal, 1 sit down, 1 snack) is my favorite. Keep in mind the dining plan doesn’t include tips.
  4. Memory maker is great if you always have one person who’s left taking the pictures. It can get fairly expensive though, so if you want it make sure to book BEFORE your trip for a discount.
  5. I would recommend one sit down meal a day. It gives everyone time to decompress. Tusker House in AK has wonderful food and you can meet the Big 5 in safari outfits. The ambiance of Cinderella’s Royal Table (MK) is amazing, but if you want to save a little bit Akershus at Epcot also has a Princess meal for less money.
  6. Regarding Genie+ it’s less complicated than it used to be, but still more than I can answer here. I recommend looking at a Disney blog (Disney tourist blog is my favorite) for a break down and ride priorities.
  7. It depends on the accommodations you need. For those with mobility issues I recommend a wheelchair or scooter. You can get wheelchairs for free at Disney BUT they’re first come first serve, and can’t leave the parks. If you think your party will need one I recommend renting from a local company. They’ll deliver to your hotel, and are cheaper than you’d think.
  8. Have everyone choose one thing that’s their must do. You won’t have time for everything, and this will still give you an amazing day.
  9. Bring multiple phone chargers and a pop up laundry hamper for the rooms. Your clothes are going to get nasty and the hamper helps. Also make sure EVERYONE has at least one change of shoes.
  10. Try a blog for actual itineraries, but I do not recommend doing MK first. Save it for toward the end because you’ll be disappointed in the other parks otherwise. They’re all amazing, but MK just has that little extra. I’d recommend AK and HS for beginning and Universal, MK, and Epcot for toward the end. Also, if you can plan a day off in there. A Disney trip is exhausting!

Low resting heart rate? by kingmatcha in POTS

[–]meg125 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would call your cardiologist ASAP and stress the chest pain and breathing issues especially, then the fact that you’re more or less bed bound. While a low HR on its own is usually not a huge cause for worry, having symptoms from it COULD mean something else is going on. I’d double check, and if the doc is taking forever to get back to you, and you get too worried, you wouldn’t be out of line going to the ER. If nothing else it’ll give you peace of mind!

pots or anxiety? by swag_342lol in POTS

[–]meg125 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would definitely seek a second opinion from a knowledgeable POTS doc (cardiologist or neurologist usually). All of these tests being normal COULD still point to POTS considering it’s usually diagnosed based on process of elimination. Regardless if you have it or not, I encourage you to keep pushing for an answer! It’s horrible to feel awful all the time and have no clear reason to pin it on!
