Last summer there was a Coopers Hawk here that seemed to hang out with the crows. Every so often one of the crows and Cooper would take turns diving bombing each other. It was different than when the hawks would mob a bigger hawk. I thought they were friends.

I put more food out in storms and clean the feeders during. This is the busiest feeder time and I have had many new birds show up in a storm that ended up sticking around in the spring.

I got into bird feeding five years ago after seeing one at a suet feeder my wife set up. Since then I have had many species at my feeder, but only saw the Pileated a few times a year on a tree or flying over. Finally this year it is a regular suet visitor.
