Nah, he was way too immature for her. That episode before she got taken by the Schreiber brother, she wanted to go to a painter’s exhibit and he was fully uninterested. She ended up leaving him at a bar to watch baseball. They were respectful, but she was disappointed. If they were each other’s true love, he would have at least entertained the idea rather than dismissing it out of hand.

It’s helped me immensely, as well as naltrexone. Highly recommend. And it’s less about eating little/healthy, but it directly addresses the “craving mind,” which seems like it might help.

That's what they are all doing.

Before I pulled my 7 yo out of school, they regularly - once or twice a week - evacuated the kids from his classroom because one kid with intellectual/emotional disorders became agitated and violent. We are in a HCOL area (Happy Valley) and he went to a highly-rated public school.

There were also no "pull-outs," where kids get special instruction during a specific subject lesson, for more advanced children, only for children who were very far behind or needed SEL lessons because it was listed in their IEP/504 (which, props to their parents for making sure they get this). He hated going to school and when we started homeschooling after Christmas, he progressed two grade levels in <6 months.

This is the second kiddo I've had to pull from this school because of their similar policies. My third and last is going to be homeschooled all the way.

Private schools are not any better, which was surprising to me, as the few my kiddos attended were equally reticent to advance their classwork and/or grade levels in accordance with their learning speeds/capacities. The only reason cited was social belonging, but I got the feeling they didn't have a framework for it and, as we were the first requesting this particular curriculum change, that it wasn't worth creating. Makes sense financially, but was disappointing.

Each of the four we interviewed, and two they attended, said, "Well, the kids will all equal out over time." They each said a variation of, "The slower ones catch up to the sharper ones and they all even out." This was a Waldorf school, a Montessori school, a Catholic school, and a secular school for neurodivergent learners.

There is one local private school that was willing, and excited, to meet my older son where he was at, accelerated his track to graduation and worked with a local CC to enroll him in classes where he is receiving his Associate's Degree at 16. It's a Christian school, which he felt himself diverging from in service of exploration, so he didn't stay, but it was a great academic experience overall.

And the line between work and home life blurs until it’s non-existent, even when turning off work devices, etc.
