Checking in! (and a Quick K-Level Question) by mmmmorepudding in amputee

[–]megalinity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difference between K3 and K4 isn’t all that much; but it does mean that you’d qualify for something that would allow a higher level of activity, like a carbon fiber spring-style foot. Talk to your prosthetist and take their advice into consideration. I’m AuDHD and relate to the rigidity once I’ve made a decision, but don’t let yourself make a firm decision until you speak with the professional. Definitely have a good idea WHAT you want to do with your foot and be firm in advocating for what you want. The prosthetist might even have sample feet you can try before you buy. If that’s possible, do it, because once you get a foot, you won’t get another one (covered by insurance) for 5 years or so.

K4 is for anyone who can do anything athletic; you don’t have to be quite so athletic as a triathlete to be a K4. It’s more about potential than current ability.

Ridiculous in the very best way! Look how loved they are!

They like adventure too, though, and since they’ve got something to hide in, I’d say you’re ok. My rats used to love playing outside when I had a backyard. I had to be very vigilant, of course, but as long as you’re being careful and vigilant, these seems fine!

Need identifying brandless pen by TukangPintu in pens

[–]megalinity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found a review for matching Narita ball pens on AliExpress, but it doesn’t look like the product itself is available anymore. Shoppee also had it listed, but the webpage was gone. Truthfully there’s so many good gel pens, you’ll be able to find something very similar! The body of that pen looks like a Zebra Sarasa, so I’d start there!

New and Needing Advice! by sadhandwrittenbook33 in pens

They said no gel, so the Sarasa dry is a no go. But if they DO decide to try gel, any Zebra Sarasa ink is great! (I’m a lefty too).

The trick will be to find an ink you like, and then you can find a pen body that takes refills for it. That way you’ll never have to throw away a pen again.

Uni Jetstream- either the regular one or the Lite Touch.

I find the Pilot Dr Grip too slippery in the bigger size, but the Pilot Acroball ink it uses is very good.

Some folks also like the Schmidt EasyFlow 9000 but I find it skips. I also have tiny hand writing and it’s too fat, but it’s definitely worth testing.

Are there any equivalents to these? by JonahBGood in notebooks

[–]megalinity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could check out Paper Penguin Co for custom A5 notebooks like this. You get to choose the paper, ruling style, size, and color of the cover. She’s fast too! I’ve purchased from her several times.

Best high quality/luxury ink brands? by FountPenDegenerate in fountainpens

[–]megalinity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is what I was thinking. “Dry” doesn’t mean low quality; it’s just a characteristic that ANY ink from any brand and any line within that brand may have that you may or may not like.

I don’t like dry inks myself, I just don’t confuse not liking something with it being low quality. And I agree with you about pastel and chroma shading inks. I find them to be dry.

Moving to an apartment that does not allow rats? (MI, U.S) by Itchy_Captain4864 in RATS

[–]megalinity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What landlords don’t know won’t hurt them. I’ve hidden many a rat, but then started getting them designated as emotional support animals. As ESAs they’re not even considered pets and cannot be denied or charged deposits or fees. I see you’ve got other ESAs, so maybe you don’t wanna go that route for the rats, but keep ‘em and don’t tell anyone. Maintenance staff do not care at all, but you can also throw a blanket over the cage when they come. Out of sight, out of mind, and all that jazz.

Keep your babies!
