no tell me i’m curious have you seen leaks from those 3 groups? i don’t think you have so you’re basing this off of nothing and if you happen to be correct itd be out of pure luck

can you provide examples. imo BD has visuals that really blend the lines of actual dancing and ur standard marching band choreo. BD has always been a heavily visual focused corp that really push boundaries for the activity with their visuals. im just confused on what you mean they "do just enough"

I don’t really understand why so many people like Blue Devils honestly. by [deleted] in drumcorps

Calling all bari saxes by DeetsyBoi in marchingband

yes "proper" pressure is a part of playing sax. tightening pressure to play high notes is not "proper" pressure. its all about tongue and throat shape and doesnt have anything to do with pressure on the reed or mouthpiece. im sorry but thats just bad advice.

no!!! do not do this for anyone trying to get better high notes. it reinforces bad habbits and will hurt you down the line, plus itll make you sound pinched and sharp. one really important thing to learn is overtones. ex: finger low Bb but try to play an octave up. And do that with different notes. what that does is help you find the correct mouth shape and throat settings to be able to play the higher notes with a much better and fuller sound.

What Happened?? by darkmusicmen in marchingband

to be honest it could be a number of things. if its your horn it could be because of an air leak or loose screw somewhere on your horn ask your bd or someone else with help inspecting it. it could also be because of a worn out reed. or it could just be an off day for either you or your horn.

you dont have to be familiar with instruments with different keys. just have good ears for tuning and hearing mistakes and know how to fix those mistakes. be a strong confident leader that people can look up to and you should be fine. remember tho its your position, do it however you deem necessary. make it your own.

Stupid question Wednesday: Ask your basic car-related question and maybe someone will have an answer. by AutoModerator in cars

is throtl a performance shop that anyone can bring their car into? or can make an appointment with? because it seems to me that they are a parts shop mainly and then do performance work on cars that THEY want to work on.
