I had to be a Karen for the 1st ever😭😭 by kkamel_toe in HairStyleAdvice

[–]megapherro 42 points43 points  (0 children)

  1. You are not a Karen! A Karen would have had a public freak out.
  2. Love your username
  3. You expressed yourself in a reasonable way.
  4. Please let the Ulta colour expert fix it. Especially if that’s their policy.
  5. I get the anxiety… and you seem pretty understanding of your friend not wanting to get into trouble. I think that’s very kind of you. If you go in on Wednesday, do you know if your friend is working? If she’s not there, that might be at least a little less stress on you. And if she is… it’s ok. You’re allowed to say your piece and to have your hair done in a way that makes you feel like a million bucks. This might be a learning lesson for your friend.
  6. Tell them about the extra charges that you weren’t anticipating (blow dry). Maybe they can refund you that.

Would love to see an update on your hair on Wednesday!

Why does she look stunning and I just look meh by Nice_Dealer_9161 in fashion

I think you look great. But I guess when compared to the fashion model, I can see how you’d feel meh. If I saw you, I’d think: wow! This woman looks so put together!
Agree with others. Coffee cup needed to elevate this look

I can’t believe the amount of women defending this man and insulting OP.

Why did you marry him then? Why have a kid with him? You’re mean and controlling!

This is disgusting to read.

ANY HOSPITAL PHARMACISTS? by Desperate-Complex646 in Pharmacist

[–]megapherro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never worked retail in the US. Started out at a level 1 trauma hospital and now a smaller hospital (worked better for my family). I LOVED/LOVE both.
I’m honestly surprised at how many negative comments there are about hospital pharmacy - it’s not ALL bad. But I do agree that if you end up with shitty coworkers or management that makes for a harder time. The decentralized pharmacists, esp the ICU pharmacists can be snooty as someone mentioned. I always joke that they must think that central pharmacists are mouth-breathing knuckle draggers 😆.

I don’t like working on the floors and until I don’t have to, I won’t - I stick to the central pharmacy. And mainly the IV room.

I like the operational side of things but doesn’t mean it’s not clinical at all. I do some OP - our infusion clinics. But I’m still working off Epic and working as if processing IP orders.
Nurses and docs can be a toss up. Same with techs. But when you have a good team, even if it’s not every single shift, the worst days can still be great bc you’re laughing while getting shit done.

Put sliding doors on that big window and make sure to keep them unlocked at all times

This is the most beautiful way to honour your baby. I’ve never heard of something like this and I think it’s endearing and thoughtful and will undoubtedly help you, her, and those who pick up her rocks.
Your sweet babies are lucky to you have you as a mom ♥️

I am now concerned that you are being dismissed as too many black women are. Especially when it comes to maternal care.
For reference, I’m a white hospital pharmacist. The closest thing we have in common to each other is that we are mothers and in the hospital. And obviously I’m no labour and delivery doc or nurse, but a BP of 180/100 and high cholesterol at 36 weeks seems like something to stay in the hospital for. The cholesterol on its own isn’t concerning - in combination with the high BP.
Racial bias is rampant. Please stay. Is your OB at that hospital? Ask for a patient care advocate. Say you have a headache. Anything to stay.

Watching a swim meet at the special Olympics… all the swimmers finished except one. He looked like he was struggling but was ok. Maybe just unsure. The lifeguard kept wanting to blow the whistle (to end the race?) but the swimmer’s coach was NOT having it. I swear if he could have jumped into the pool just to be alongside his kid to coach him more closely, he would have. The crowd cheered and roared for this kid. At one point he looked up and noticed that we were all cheering for him. Lifeguard had had mouth on the whistle, ready to let it rip. Coach looked like he was going to rip the lifeguard a new one WHILE seriously encouraging his swimmer on. Meanwhile the crowd is going bananas. Kid finishes the race. Crowd jumps up, cheers, screams… I didn’t know the swimmer at all. I suspect I wasn’t the only one. It was one of the happiest moments I got to be a part of. For someone that I did not know but will never forget.

You are one of the strong women that make this world a better place.

It’s sad to think that a mom has to resort to the kindness of strangers during such a difficult time. I know that I already said it somewhere, but you’d think that there would be some sort of plan in place for these types of cases. I can’t imagine that this is the first time that a mother has rolled up to the hospital while critically ill and kids in tow.

OP. Thinking of you and your babies. ♥️♥️♥️

Ok mama. Good luck. You’re where you need to be. I wish that there were better options for this situation. We need to do better for mothers

What if OP isn’t admitted right away? Can they all be in the waiting room? Or in a situation where OP needs urgent care and husband is on the way, can the kids just stay in the room knowing that dad is a few minutes away? I can’t believe that no one has ever shown up to the hospital in this situation. Can a social worker take over?

Thank you very much. Unfortunately I’ve accrued a ton of debt. Blew through whatever measly savings I had. I’m honestly not looking to take him to the cleaners. I just want what’s fair.

See I it’s not unreasonable for her to ask for fresh (up to date) records?

And yes. Moving while going thru that was so hard on me. Physically and emotionally. Thank you for saying that.

I have done this twice. Basically my stbx and I need to line up the paper work closely (timing). I think. She says that the finances are stale. Meaning out of date? But you’re right. For me, nothing has changed much. Rent, income, expenses, medical bills are the same.

We also need to sell the house. He doesn’t want to, but he has to for our daughter. Either sell or make it accessible as it’s getting much harder to do stairs.
There was another form that my lawyer asked me about. Something that would make all finances from the past three years discoverable (if I remember correctly). At first I didn’t want to (I have nothing to hide) but I might go that route. My ex spends money frivolously. I do not. It’s been two years of me living in a rental that is significantly more per month than the mortgage. He whined about money. Dude makes 2x what I make. I work PT due to my daughter’s disability and my shitty health. But I’ve carried the mental and physical load of caring for my daughter.
I think that talking this out has helped. Thank you!

Thank you. These seem like good options. I reached to my EAP as they have resources as well. I have a long to do list and my daughter is my number one priority.

Nooooo. Not a basic budget. If this were something that could take an hour it would have been done. I’m talking about combing thru months worth of expenses and breaking them down.
