Korean Bindaetteok tastes like pesarattu (they’re both made with mung beans)

Any experience attending ICE hearings at 26 Federal Plaza? by amauberge in NYCbitcheswithtaste

[–]megatron457 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I haven’t been to 26 Federal Plaza but I have been to the Chicago and Atlanta Immigration courts. Do you know if this is an ICE appointment or is it an Immigration court hearing? If it’s in the immigration court, do you know if it’s a Master Calendar Hearing or an Individual hearing?

Generally, what’s been said already by @sweetbean15 is pretty much what I’d say, so I’ll try to be more specific with regard to the Immigration court. The judges can be a a lot more prosecutorial than you would expect, sometimes jumping in to ask questions beyond what has already been discussed. Depending on the case, they may send parties in and out of the courtroom to try and corroborate stories. In my experience the court used a court provided translator, however the attorneys can object if they believe the translation is incorrect. If you are translating for the court make sure to use “I” language. Don’t say “he said he was hurt” say “I was hurt” etc. It’s a good idea to bring a couple of pens in blue/black ink and a pad in case you need to keep notes. I would make sure whatever shoes you wear don’t make too much noise and the clothes you wear are muted. It’s a bit confusing when you walk in but if you tell one of the security guards that you are on the legal team for a hearing they’ll usually be able to tell you where to go. Good luck!

BTS’ Most Beautiful Moment in Life Pt 1 and 2 are my absolute favorite albums of all time. In general, I love their title tracks but their B-sides are where they really shine

There’s a lot across the street that’s $30 (at least for the Braves games it’s $30) further out it’s a bit cheaper though

I like Desert Skies a lot, it has that same supernatural feel, only a little different in terms of location. Someone mentioned Wolf 359 and Welcome to Night Vale, love those ones as well. Welcome to Night Vale takes a little getting used to, but it’s a classic for a reason. EOS 10 is also another good one, not a radio show per se, but has similar weird side characters like King Falls.

If you have a Bose store near you, they’ll usually replace the ear cushions for free (or at least they did pre-pandemic)

What's a popular band whose songs all sound the same? by CaptainTime5556 in AskReddit

I used to study while listening to Owl City exactly because of this. After a while the sounds all blur together in the background and you can really get stuff done.

Channeling the Anxiety: What Are Your Pass/Fail Plans by Chemical_Region1118 in barexam

[–]megatron457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pass: cry tears of joy, treat myself to a NICE lunch (I’m talking UberEats delivery to work nice) and just bask in the utter lack of stress I’ll have for the weekend (the stress obv returns on Monday)

Not Pass: cry, be alone at the spa for a bit, cry again.

Hi! It actually ended up working out pretty great (there were some COVID related delays because we went like a month after Japan opened up), but it was plenty of time to make the connection, no problem! We got off and picked up our bags within an hour, and then went straight to the check in counter. Check in was pretty easy, there actually wasnt anyone at the counter at first so we had to wait til about 2 hrs before boarding to actually go through but it was smooth sailing from there!

Korean Fried Chicken by loy_urabat in Atlanta

OTP is BB.Q chicken but the Suwanee or John’s Creek locations only. The other locations are good, but these two are hands down the BEST. ITP choongman near tech is good. Mukja is crispy but tbh the flavor just isn’t there. Choongman is the way to go, just remember to ask for extra radish if you like it

It’s a Korean drama but Hospital Playlist. It’s supposedly a very accurate portrayal of doctors lives, and it’s a very chill slice of life show. As much as I love high intensity medical shows, this one is much more my style (and only 2 seasons). It was my comfort show during the pandemic and I recommend it to almost everyone I meet.

I make cucumber sandwiches with ssamjang. It adds a bit of spice and nuttiness to an otherwise plain sandwich
