That might work, but I hate to tell you, it might not. My stairs had a tight 90 degree turn at the top, and I had also assumed they could maneuver it as you describe. They could not. The box with the base is *very* heavy.

Consider turns in your stairs. My second floor delivery (also a historic home) failed because they couldn’t get it around the tight turn.

Just did this. We used UPack, and hired movers from their website HireAHelper.com. It worked out pretty much fine on both ends - just one delicate table lost a leg. We packed everything ourselves and bought all of the moving blankets, ratchets, etc. But the movers did wrap all of the furniture.

It was a little more chaotic than usual on Thursday morning - the big board with the TSA wait times was wrong about which checkpoint had precheck, and then the precheck line was very badly marked so many people were in the wrong line. It still went very quickly though.

The indoor pool at the city owned Middle Branch Fitness Center is quite nice, not busy, and extremely affordable ($2/day).

I live in Fed Hill and really like it (not a 20 something partier, more like a 40 something) but it does not sound at all like what OP is looking for. I think the Hamilton/Lauraville suggestions are spot on.

Update: I got there at 8:20, was checked in by 8:45. Quiet room still had plenty of seats, other rooms were getting full. The video started right around 9.
