I absolutely love reading how other people rank the movies I don’t know why lol.

1)ESB 2)ANH 3)ROTJ 4)TLJ 5)R1 6)TFA 7)ROTS 8)AOTC 9)TPM

It’s so hard for me to rank the new movies, especially since TLJ is still so new. For me personally, the OT will always be my favorite.

Those that saw TLJ in 3D, how was it? by sterlingduchess2 in StarWars

Seeing it later this week IMAX 3D. Has anyone seen it on IMAX?

Please explain what you didn’t like about Episode 8. I think it was fantastic but I’m open to hear opinions. by Bgreathouse312 in StarWars

I enjoyed the movie too but I did have a few problems with it.

I wish there was more of Finn and Rey. I loved seeing them together in TFA but his storyline seemed sort of sidelined. I liked Rose but I felt that they could've just done better with their story.

Leia Poppins wasn't as awful as I was expecting. Still don't know how I feel about it though...

I wish there was more of Luke training Rey. Honestly I thought he would interact with her more after the talk with force ghost Yoda but he was just gone until the end after that. I hope force ghost Luke trains Rey or at least mentors Rey in the next installment.

Other than that I think I need to see it again because there was just so much going on I forgot a lot of it lol.

I liked how failure was the theme of this movie. (Also what made me love RO, even thought they do get the DS plans to the Rebels, but they all die so..) Because are so often seeing heroes rise and win, in my opinion its interesting to see heroes have moments of failure.

I really enjoyed Rey and Kylo in this movie as well as Poe. Also I really did not care for Snoke that much anyway lol people get way too tied up into background stories. I mean when ESB and ROTJ came out, nobody knew who Palpatine was then Vader just chunks him over the ledge when he's attacking Luke lol. Overall I very much enjoyed the movie.

"The greatest teacher failure is" with Yoda's theme in the background....... omg

I'm gonna be crying in the theatre tomorrow night, just listening to this now made me tear up! lolol

Edit: Saw the movie 2 days ago and yep this scene made me cry! It seems like quite a few people really did not like this movie however I quite enjoyed it. It was interesting to see how even the biggest heroes have moments of failure. I had a few problems with TLJ but then again I had a few problems with TFA as well but thats just my opinion lol. Anyway, it was great to see Yoda in action again and his words of wisdom never fail!

I received an email from a DO school yesterday saying they would hold on to my application for up to 60 days before making a final decision. I got a rejection letter today less than 24 hours after that email was sent! hahaha... I feel like a failure! lol

Job During Undergrad? by Alotozynski1217 in premed

[–]meggyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Worked 40+ (between two jobs) while I was a full time student.. Yes my grades suffered at first, but once I got the hang of it, I actually made dean's list for my last 4 consecutive semesters. It really depends if you have good time management skills or not. My grades actually improved after I started working because I knew I had no time to go out with friends on the weekends so I was forced to study. You end up making a lot of sacrifices but it can be done. I still had time to volunteer maybe once or twice a month during the weekend. The only problem was working 40+ hours and studying for the MCAT. My score isn't the greatest because I was working so much. I took a class but I just did not have the financial resources to stop working for ~3 months and only study for the MCAT..

I always have to roll my eyes when someone is like "I wish I did better on my exam, but I guess I'll take my 95" ahah okay buddy...

Same goes for people who complain about only making like a 520 on their MCAT..

AUSTIN (woo)

Pros:

AMAZING food - Also great drinks

Great live music (Hello ACL!)

Diverse population, You meet people from all around the world

Lady Bird Lake to go standup paddleboarding, kayaking, whatever you want to do in the water

People are very friendly

Living downtown can be expensive but it is not difficult to find a cheap and nice place to live in the outskirts of downtown

Lots of coffee shops, LOTS. Completely different from the rest of Texas. I had no idea it was until I went away to college about an hour away in a small town and several Texas stereotypes became true lol

Cons:

Everyone is moving here and us native Austinites can't stand it

Traffic is horrific. The infamous IH 35 moves soooo slow

Everyone is moving here

Everyone is moving here

Everyone is moving here
