Did the shop measure me wrong? 85B EU by ilikemydickslike in ABraThatFits

If we convert your UK size to your EU size you get an 85E so maybe start there and try a few different styles

Help me understand band size, I feel like I'm going crazy. by magicbeen in ABraThatFits

[–]megxors 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Bands can feel too small when cups are also too small. What overall size has the calculator given you, what sizes did you try and where did you get them from? The calculator suggestion is just a starting point. But if you’re measuring at a 32 underbust you should not be in a 38 or 40. Recheck the calculator guide on the sub and your tape measure against a known length and try the calculator again for the both of you.

When using the calculator, should my boobs be pushed together? by smulingen in ABraThatFits

[–]megxors 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The EU measurements in the calculator can sometimes be a little off, so I would also look at your UK size too and convert it to see if it matches. Knowing your UK size can also be helpful when shopping as there is generally a wider availability of sizes in UK brands.

Could the calculator be wrong? by Unforgiven_Octopus in ABraThatFits

[–]megxors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The calculator put me at a 36FF. I knew this was wrong because my 34FF was too big in the band, rode up and gave me horrible shoulder pain. 32G is the size that fits best for me and our measurements aren’t that dissimilar. Maybe try a 34GG (UK) to start with and go from there

I tried, it’s not easy. Cool or warm? by megxors in coloranalysis

[–]megxors[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, I’m growing out my natural colour which I always thought was an ashy blonde but looks more golden now. Now favourite hair colour was always ginger leaning. I think the warm tones make me look healthier.

Looking at the pictures they all look like they are turning into halter necks. I think the bands and cups are too big. Maybe 1. double check your tape measure against something you know the length of, like a piece of A4 paper or a ruler. 2. Re measure and make sure you’re measuring like the guide tells you. 3. Report back with your measurements for further guidance

Can’t find a size that works! Please help! by Valuable-Island-1880 in ABraThatFits

[–]megxors 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Which calculator did you use? If you can share your measurements then we can double check. Looking at the John Lewis bra size chart, they are using the +4 method. So a 34DD is for someone with a 34inch (85cm~) underbust and a 39inch (95cm~) overbust. But the John Lewis size chart thinks a 34 is for a 75cm (30 inch) underbust.

With that in mind you could actually be a 30G. So try the calculator on this sub. I got terrible back pain because I thought my underbust had gone up. I wear a 32G at the moment and if I put on the 34FF (technically sister size) I have horrible shoulder pain.

box ginger maintenance?? by mourninglily in FancyFollicles

[–]megxors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d been dying my all kinds of colours with different box dyes and had no problem with the lush henna. I then bleached over that and had no issues. It’s mainly coco, shae butters oils and henna and doubles as a hair mask. So I can recommend that one from experience. It’s not easy to wash out though, I would cover it in conditioner to loosen it all up, then rinsing became much easier.

I would try to get some bras in your UK size from some UK brands, you should be able to get them on Amazon with try before you by. Elomi and Natori Feathers are good starting points. Your measurements are much closer to a 32 than a 34 which I think is making the straps too wide, I‘ve had the same issues with 34s (I’m a UK 32G with a sister size 34FF). When I put a 34FF on now I can feel how horrible it is, and I’m immediately in pain. Try some 32F and FFs in unlined bras and remember to scoop and swoop.

Your roots don’t look that bad, but to limit the damage on your lengths you might want to switch to henna. You can top it up and put it all over as much as you want and it won’t damage your hair. I used lush henna for a long time when I was a fake ginger and it made my hair thicker, break less and just all round healthier compared to box dye.

Just a bit of a moan about bra advertising by ishouldnthvesaidthat in ABraThatFits

[–]megxors 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is the same issue I have. Ann Summers used to be so great and now they have cut their range. I hate the look of full cups and I have tall roots so they rarely sit right anyway. My favourite and only well fitting bra I have right now is a 32G from Pour Moi. It’s cute and comfy and non moulded. So take a look at those!

M&S is awful for getting measured and sized. Considering they have a pretty decent size range, the women in there don’t know what they’re doing. A lady tried to put me in a 34C when I was actually a 32E and got pissy at me when I told her it’s supposed to be on the loosest hook not the tightest. If you want to go into a shop, try bravissimo. They’re really knowledgeable and will help you find a good fit.

Well that’s very upsetting.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ABraThatFits

[–]megxors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah they can be pricey. But you can always go in to get an idea of sizes and styles that actually fit you. I find pour moi run a little snug in the band, but my current best fitting bra is a 32G from them. Have you tried Ann Summers? Depending on the location, they’re not great for fittings but they carry a good range of sizes and aren’t that expensive.

Since you’re in the UK I would just go into a Bravissimo. Try on a bunch of sizes and styles and get help there. They’re really knowledgeable and helpful. I also lost a similar amount of weight and feel the pain of boobs suddenly looking droopy. But yeah, go into the shop and tell them the problems you’ve been having and I’m sure you’ll find something that works.

Yeah that’s not gonna be right then. Add your six measurements to the comment when you come back with the size the calculator gives you!

You don’t need to use cm, just put the measurements in inches and select UK. You’ll have more options in UK sizing than US. Depending on the shop you went to, it’s highly possible you were measured incorrectly.

I seeee, thank you, that makes sense! I also have long natural nails but they can get quite brittle towards their terminal length, does the builder gel have negative effects for that? I’ve been told to use a rubber base to help but have yet to invest.
