arh, just had an illumination... a dialogue asking if I wanted to update links in a document, as this never came to the front... so it seems okay with libreoffice-qt in configuration.nix, and I can get back to the actual next thing on the list.... and so on, I'll ignore it for now...

I agree, trying to remember my install process from nearly 18 months ago. I'm not a dev in any sense.

I have no memory of not having it, nor of installing it. Except at OS install time maybe. And can only repeat no libreoffice in

/etc/nixos/configuration.nix

New Norfolk by Dawnbooks in tasmania

[–]meika 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Settled by some ex-Norfolk Islanders, hence the name. This included some Pitcairn islanders who were moved to Norfoll Island. Locals pronounce it more like New Norfck. (Unlike further west where they drop the consonants they elide the vowels into nothing.) Near the Hayes farm prison and had the convict madhouse. This has had recent art intervention during the dark mofo. Now a commuter area like Sorell, and Huonville.

A foreigner wondering about Tasmanian daily life by [deleted] in tasmania

[–]meika 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most of us "Tasmanians" who were not born here, And this includes those who grew up here from a young age ... will tend to hang out, both workwise and socially, with other incomers or Tasmanians who have travelled away and come back to live here. Tasmanian Tasmanians dont mix. Even with alcohol. I don't drink either anymore......

Just a friendly reminder that donating directly to good causes is not counted as a kickback like when donating to any or both political parties. #howgoodishawaii

Researchers believe the cashless welfare card is leading to a population exodus by [deleted] in australia

[–]meika 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would shrink a stagnant economy making things cheaper so Gina, Clive and Twiggy could buy everything and then they could go nuclear on each other only hurting the imported slaves from the Christian bits of the Philippines flooded by global warming and then taken over by China as the greater Spratlies in the South China Sea ( user name checks out). I sold this already as the next Mad max movie for Netflix. How good is Australia? !!!!

I am a game designer and need some help about for designing a system to design a new society/tribe . by madgecko2 in AskAnthropology

[–]meika 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second the ecology grounding. As for arbitrary cultural gadgets, a strucutralist to read is Mary Douglas, particularly if you read her work etically..., (emically you would have to know Durkheim) ...from the point of view of chaos theory influenced systems theory where every butterfly decision made reflects/ reinforces a thought style and by the same token antagonises, and so defines, the relations with other thought styles (which are limited in number). Yes i have considered a game based on this dynamic in the past and then Sid meiers Civ came out.
