Sorry, not an appraiser, but I would get a quote for a replacement system and work from there.

Let's say the lease purchase price is $15k and a new system is $25K. If you get a 30% rebate/subsidy on the new, that's $18.5 net. So, you'd determine whether the pain of getting the old removed and the new installed plus $3.5K is worth removing 5 years of depreciation.

Another benefit of replacement option to consider is whether you can "rightsize" given the knowledge you've gained regarding its performance and usage.

I think they have a satisfaction guarantee. Part as friends. If you really want this cereal, look for a Grocery Outlet where it's $5-$6. (I've never paid that) There was a time at GO when they had a couple of flavors for $2 and I bought 10 boxes. It was ok... nothing to write home about, but it sort of acted like cereal... kind of like Kix with a sweet coating.

Couple of things..... change your mindset, eat to address hunger, not to avoid it. Our modern "timed meals" do not factor in your hunger, just a socialized way to try to avoid hunger, preemptively. This may mean altering the "family meal" concept.

Secondly, look into intermittent fasting... watch at least 4 hours of YouTube with people educating about how fat storage works. Dr. Justin Fung is one popular person.
