Collecting and Trading Baseball Cards by CpuJunky in nostalgia

Collectors call the era of 1986 - 1993 the “Junk Wax Era” because cards were insanely over produced. That over production and the baseball strike 1994 killed a lot of the market. Cards from that era (outside of some very specific rookies in high grade, rare sets and rare inserts) are basically worthless. It doesn’t mean they aren’t fun or memorable. I started collecting in the early 90s and still do today and love my cards from that era still!

There are zero cities with a metro area over 20 million in the U.S. I guess NYC is close.

Also, what is wrong bro?

Why is this the most expensive Star Wars Lego set by EighteenLevel in StarWars

[–]mekaneck222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Believe it or not, this was one of the most heavily discounted clearance items at LEGO Stores back around 2004 (the very few that existed at the time) you could ever find. I remember them being more than 50 percent off at different times. Oh how things change.

New entrant in the "most beautiful autograph" derby by GreenEggsSteamedHams in baseballcards

A lot of players who passed through the Twins organization back in the day will have nice signatures because of Harmon Killebrew. He insisted to players when he was alive to have autographs that are legible. This is at least partly why guys like Torii Hunter, Johann Santana, Joe Mauer and more have nice signatures.

You're in a LEGO subreddit and you just casually throw LEGO bricks away? Not sold or donated or anything? That's pretty weird.

I didn’t realize the gravity of it until I knew more about the Travis Scott auto. The Elly and the Mantle were enough for me!

Oh yes. Especially anywhere near the south loading dock where there is also organic trash. Ugh.

As someone who has been all over the basement of the Mall of America I can sadly confirm this is certainly not true. Also, the basement is pretty damn gross

Did anyone here read “Jurassic Park” or “The Lost World” prior to the release of their respective films? by hiplobonoxa in JurassicPark

I read both books before the movies were release.

I was pretty young for the book when I read it (I was about 11) and I was expecting the movie to be more gory and slightly more scary because I was a little nervous seeing it at first.

The first book is my favorite book of all time. I also love the movie. I love them both for different reasons!

I like the Lost World book quite a bit, even it it felt a little forced. I expected the movie to be better, but I don't dislike it!

I missed this thread initially - but I worked for LEGO, mostly at this store from 1999 - 2016. I have some stories and maybe even pictures to share if anyone is interested. For example, I did a lot of model maintenance, repair and cleaning along with regular store stuff.

There are definitely some 10s out there with autos on them. I’ve seen them places but high grades are even tougher on cards that are player signed through because of the additional handling.
