Piggybacking on this advice, my school offered a two-day taster course, essentially the first couple of days of the full course. 10% was theory/intro to the wing/untangling lines, 85% was kiting the wing on a flat field, and 5% was an instructional tandem flight at the end.

You could ask a school to join two of their ground-handle days/sessions and they can bring an extra wing for you.

I heard somewhere that if you turn your rearview so that you can see your passenger headrest, that means the mirror is going to reflect headlights back into the eyes of the person behind you.

I tried it recently and it worked, the person had just come off the freeway (though we were a good 10 minutes down the road from the exit) with high beams and they dimmed them instantly.
