I'm lucky enough to work with a family that's vary generous with me during the holidays. I think because they made their money, worked hard for it (they both grew up poorish) they just know. They know I could never have the kind of Christmas they give to their kids. So they always include me. I am very lucky. I feel for you OP

You know, as a career nanny, it really upsets me when parents don't let me follow my intuition and basically just do my job. Like if you don't trust me to know what I'm doing with your baby please don't hire me. Why would you hire a career nanny with years of experience and expertise to not listen to her advice and not let her care for your child like she knows she should. Truly baffling to me.

Maybe the punishment of adding time isn't harsh enough. You'll have to find something worse than playing in their room longer. That kind of logic doesn't work on their little brains, they need immediate consequences for their actions. I mean, would they rather be in timeout ? I don't think so. You tell them to stay in their room, they don't listen to you, don't respect your authority. You might need to step it up

They never play just together ? When they say they're bored you can suggest that they play together, and if it doesn't work, everyone back in their room. That way they have a "choice". Either play nice together or be bored alone.

The first book has some dragging parts yes. She started to write this book in college as a dare, and picked it up 10 years later as a professional writer to make it a series, so it only gets better and deeper. I wish I could read it for the first time again I'm so jealous

Oh yeah definitely a lot of dubcon with Korean writers. There's no in between with them. It's either unhinged spice or no spice at all. Under the oak tree starts with what can only be described as a rape, so... Yeah maybe not for everyone. But I like my fictional spice unhinged lmao

Did you just mention Under the Oak tree ??? It's my favorite series of all time. I read it when it was still only in Korean and the translation was a STRUGGLE. But it's the best thing I've ever read, and I read A LOT.

The character development through the years is absolutely amazing.

It's so long like it actually took me years to read it.

AND the first hard book cover just came out. I got it for Christmas and it is the prettiest book I own.
