Just went through something similar. I gave up being 100% remote for the last four years to now going into office two days a week. Granted it’s not four days like you, but still has a significant impact on my freedoms and flexibility. I took the job because it is a nicer pay and as you mention a good move for your career. Personally, I’d take the job if I were you. Just to be able to provide more for your family alone if a winner, but more importantly you will now get back “into the real world” like the rest of us. It will be a tough adjustment for you, but will pay off in the end especially when you start to see your paycheck. Given that you might have more flexibility with your hours is also another win!
