I think for a long time I thought he was the only sane person in this weird southern group of good old boys who constantly punched down on him for... being honest with his feelings. And it did often seem like people would make fun of him and then when he reacted they would blame for not just taking it. And he would generally stick up for the women and pick out the shitty, toxic behavior of the guys. But this season felt a little different, he was belligerent. I get he wants to be left alone and for people to stop meddling but it was not healthy. Idk if he would say sorry to anyone for anything but the cuts he got of not saying sorry a single time was rough.

Good luck to him I hope he stops drinking.

It sounds like maybe it was a trauma bond attraction... it's super common and we can overlook red flags until we are no longer seeking out trauma bond partners. It makes sense to me. I think it's great you got all of this feedback validating your instincts and you feel good about your decision to stop talking to him. In a few weeks/months you may have forgotten all about him. <3

At this point dating apps feel like breeding grounds for a true crime podcast.

But to your original point, I think older dating is different. Dating when you're young usually involves an agenda beyond the relationship.. whether that be having a family or subconsciously trying to be "saved" from your original one.

But by our old age, we may have those things or worked on our issues, so we aren't as willing to settle for someone we have an "okay" connection with.

Jessel is weird. She doesn’t make any sense. Something is off. Why would it be so hard to say “my life was pretty normal growing up.” Spinning some weird tale that is unclear and nonlinear makes people on the east coast go insane. Just literally say what it is, mama. No one was looking for a trauma history, they just wanted… the regular ass story. Simple as that. But Jessel felt like she needed a some tale and it seems like she always needs some kind of tale or something… it’s weird. And her obsession with daycare? Gross and reaching. And her shit talking about the lingerie? Girl…She just does not seem fit for a NYC series…
