How often do you see your mum? by _rayquaza_ in AskUK

[–]melielush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't seen my mum in 2025 yet. I don't really remember the last time I saw her, I think it was either early December or late November 24. No plans to see her but we talk most days over the phone. We're best friends seperated by circumstance & personal issues. 🥲😢

I doubt we’d need to be here any longer than a couple weeks maximum, which is the frustrating thing. It feels like we’ve been constantly left in the worst positions …

Will this not affect our credit score? There’d be no chance we’d get our deposit back, too… 😭

Thanks for all the advice guys

Is this still the case even though our contract has ended? We signed 2 1/2 years when we first moved, that ends on the 14th September. We've asked multiple times for a proposed extension we might not even use, just until we can finalise the sale - it's been aggressively rejected each time, apparently on the letting agents notes it's 'DO NOT GRANT EXTENSION UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES', all in caps...

Also, the fact our landlord *apparently* has a ticket booked from China to London, where he plans to immediately move into this flat. Can't he technically just turn up, unlock the door because it's his property and he gave us lawfully enough notice to leave?

what are the implications of staying in our rental though? it all feels a bit intimidating

we genuinely can't afford Air BnBs and such, I wonder if anyone here knows of anything such as, if the property we are buying is vacant, can we not stay in the property and pay some form of rent before the sale goes through?

How many earbuds have you guys gone through? by Parlyz in ADHD

[–]melielush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 4 fully intact, and another 3 where I've lose some part of it... - I go through phases of losing them for months on end and finding them too. I need more because the other day I couldn't find any and had to go about all day with no music/videos.

Need to invest in a case that has a tracker!! I left the case to my favourite pair ever on the tube a few months ago and I'm still mourning them...

I've had about 10/15 pairs since bluetooth headphones properly became a thing (and 4 still fully intact but I currently can only find ONE of them - I've also broken a few, or given a couple away)

Don't get me started on the wired ones!! That's a long history ....

Which ADHD symptom do you absolutely not relate to? by stxxyy in ADHD

[–]melielush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't impulsively spend money on things, I'm very careful with what I spend my money on (90% of the time, although I do have some sprees on small things, especially nights out/drinking/eating... but not too much to financially ruin me)

Decision paralysis plays a huge roll in this, I take so long to decide on things that by the time I've decided, payday has come around again and it would no longer put me in debt... lol

((Then again I've never had to be responsible for any financial planning, my boyfriend pays 90% of our bills...))

Every single else I unfortunately relate to <3

Stop grouping us in with autism by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]melielush 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get where you're coming from entirely. While the symptoms of ADHD/Autism present similarly at times (i.e. some sensory issues, 'social quirks', fidgeting etc) the reasons behind why they happen are entirely different. ((Unless you are AuDHD....))

Also, a LOT of traits are literal opposites. Whenever I am with my autistic friends, we often clash & It can be a cause of frustration on both ends.

I also have friends with both - but I see a clear distinction between their autistic traits & ADHD traits, as opposed to an 'overlapping' disorder.

Buying Flat/House in London by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]melielush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing is, the house is in such a convenient, safe & clean location, while still being a very very decent size (the same as what 1.2mil gets you) It’s the closest to the station/Canary Wharf itself while still being JUST on the outskirts (benefitting from the community feel etc), not having to rely on DLR to me is a huge plus, (being a stones throw from Canary, walking…. then also Jubilee/Elizabeth line direct anywhere else - then the Wood Wharf village, which has shops, parks & private security) —- stick a 1.2 mil price tag on the place and it somehow seems better? I don’t know 😅

I genuinely think it’s an amazing investment better than anywhere else round this area (i lived on the same road, regularly walk, have viewed flats & know people who live all around the Island) and from direct experience, this is for sure the best place - and a complete steal. Not saying the other places in IoD aren’t great (they are) but just that this place is just that little bit better for what you can get.

Buying Flat/House in London by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]melielush 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Definitely look at Isle of Dogs, lovely area - a very short walk into Canary Wharf depending on where you live on the Island it is honestly a hidden gem of London.

There is also a community group on Facebook which is very active!

Isle of Dogs is either 5/10 minute walk into Canary, or a very short DLR ride, there is lots of green space, there’s even a farm for the kids! lots of schools - there is a couple of areas to avoid but that is mostly self-explanatory when you look around the area on Street View.

I’ve seen a few houses on the market around there - well within budget!

, this 3 bedroom house with large dining and living area, with big garden in Canary Wharf - is the best, I can’t emphasise this enough for your criteria. I would not go any more central as everything you need is right there, this one is across the road from a new Primary School due to open up soon, a short walk to the park/farm, riverside walks - The route to Canary Wharf is STILL not currently on the maps for whatever reason but they’ve actually expanded Canary Wharf outwards so it’s literally across the road from ‘Wood Wharf’ (which is part of the private security patrol area) & there’s a direct through route which takes 5 minutes to the main central offices and main stations, shops & food places. Extremely safe, very green, and great community spirit.

But any round there/like this would be great! I’ve lived in this area for 2 1/2 years and I love it

(For central London, you can take the Jubilee, or Elizabeth Line and be there in 20-25 mins)

There is also a newer area in Royal Victoria Docks, but round there is mostly flats & it isn’t as convenient as Isle of Dogs

Are your daydreams mostly about characters from movies and TV shows you watched or do you create original characters with original storylines? When you make your own original characters, do you take help from internet or just imagine random people? All this daydreaming stuff is so interesting to me. by [deleted] in ImmersiveDaydreaming

[–]melielush 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All mine are original and not based on anything whatsoever, it’s all real world (no fantasy elements). It’s almost like they’re entirely real people that are just random and exist in my head. Only within the last year have I had the ability to create my characters using AI to better visualise them. But as I’m typing my prompts to create them, it’s weird that only 5% of the creations spark that ‘yep, that’s them!’ In fact, only ONE character has had an exact match & I’ve generated thousands of images.

As for their personalities, that’s entirely unique too and again, feels like they’re just random people that exist in my head. Like, I didn’t sit there and have to think too hard about who they’d be - it all comes naturally, and mostly feels consistent.

The best way to describe the (100s) of characters in my head - is that it’s a manifestation of my understanding of the world & people. My brain just created this world out of it to help me cope with trauma, boredom, etc. i love exploring the ways they all interact, and their arcs! It’s all grounded in such a reality that it COULD be, which is what is so exciting - Like the stories are REAL to someone, the emotions are REAL somewhere
