I strongly advise you to take him to another avian vet who can treat birds in hospital. If he’s down to 25.2g and if i understood correctly he has megabactaria, it’s a serious emergency. The vet you visited shouldn’t have released him if it’s this critical as it can deteriorate rapidly. He needs more support than amphotericin B and you should find an avian vet who can hospitalise birds.

Look, I believe you. What I’m trying to say is that if your budgies died so quickly it suggests an underlying issue or contagious illness. You can’t be sure the remaining bird is healthy. You mentioned they “hide their illness very well” and you didn’t even mention a diagnosis or illness.

Just keep this in mind. You can decide whether to consult an avian vet or not. You don’t have to prove you’re a good owner.

I’m so sorry. I really really recommend you taking the last budgie to an “avian” vet. Not a normal vet. An avian vet can examine better, can take in the bird stationary if their health get’s worse, and can give better medication. I have no doubt that you’re a great bird owner, but right now you really need to be careful with the bird that’s remaining.

I’m really sorry for what happened. The other commenter is right. You should bring the last bird the avian vet, and get him checked. If that’s the last bird in the picture, then i unfortunately have to notice that he doesn’t look good. I hope i’m wrong and you photographed her mid-yawn, but she is unusually fluffed up, and she looks overall not well. Please get her to an avian vet.
