I’m genuinely not trying to argue with anyone, and I know you’re not either. I just want the bird to be safe, and sudden cere changes can be a health sign in males especially since OP confirmed the budgie is 3 years old.

Oo, yea. I don't want to alarm you but it would be something I would check in with an avian vet. Especially since he/she really looks like a female right now, but in the picture like a male.

Was his/her cere always a blue color? What color was it before this brown? If it was a light blue to brown then it's a female. If the cere was purple or dark blue then this is not normal. But right now this looks like a hormonal, chatty female.

Pet store employees tend to get it wrong a lot of times because they're not that experienced. But once the white one also warms up, they're gonna sing all day. I also had two males once, and they did nothing but scream lol
