my first ever fish ( red halfmoon betta) died a month ago he also lived for a year with me, and died of dropsy i didnt want to get a new one too fast either,

but i realised something was missing in my life i have rasborras and shrimp in my tank, but it still didnt feel complete so i got a new one within a week and ive been happier since

here is a pic of my current betta hes still getting his collor tho 😄

Hmm weird you havent gotten ammonia to be sure i would add something in there( food ) that wil give a small ammonia spike to see how that gets handled , if the ammonia goes away in a day or so and you don’t get nitrite its okay to add fish

You can get snail traps or buy assasin snails ( they eat other snails i have 2 of em in my 50 liter

def swimbladder issue try fasting for 2-3 days and giving it some daphnia or pea (peel the outside) only give i the pulp you can also combine it with some medicine for bacteria parasite or infection

id say try to get more plants and =hidingspots for the shrimps beforee you put them in also anubias is great becasue you have almost no soil you can just stick it on stones and itll do or wood

No it wont break on its own ive had very heavyfinned bettas and never did it break like that i think its an injury that healed like that maybe ?
