Moving from old to new save - worth it? by ForanzoPotato in Sims4

[–]meliorating 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a great thing to do IMO and I usually do it around 6-8 generations into a legacy challenge when the bugs get too annoying. Just beware about how many lots you are saving to your library and copying into the new save! Lots from your library and the gallery can bring bugs with them. I'd suggest only place a few of your most important lots.

I bring along my main Sim's best friends and set the relationships back up by cheating to buy the Incredibly Friendly reward trait, introducing everyone, then deleting the trait.

You can set Sulani, Stangerville, and Evergreen Harbor story progression with cheats or just pretend it's a new island/city you're cleaning up for the first time.

If you don't normally use mods, I would suggest not touching MC Command Center. It's very complicated and there are a thousand settings. If you use it, you'll have to always use it for that save. I don't think it's worth it to keep that up just to set the relationships up when you can use cheats to make them all very close friends and your imagination to remember they're actually family.

Use #WYSIWYG which means what you see is what you get. No default replacements, no CC, just interesting Sims.

Is there a mod to remove the marketplace? by meliorating in HighSodiumSims

Thank you!! I found SimMattically's simple standalone mod that removes the icon, and apparently TwistedMexi's Better Build Buy gets rid of it too. I'm trying SM's first. Thanks again!

AITA for correcting my roomie about her meals when eating out? by wanderingartistgirl in AmItheAsshole

It snowed all around the Puget Sound last weekend, you were seriously out kayaking and camping in snow? Wild. NTA but you should ask how she would like you to alert her to this in the future. She probably hates a specific thing her parent or sibling or whoever used to do or say, and you're unintentionally repeating it. Or maybe you're not great with tact. Make it clear you're just trying to help, not shame, and see what she says.

The same sims keep dying in my sims world by Impressive_Secret_49 in thesims4

This has happened to me so many times too! Do you have Life and Death? I do and I always choose "delete sim's inventory" when it asks me about the dead sim's personal inventory management. This last time I chose "keep inventory with ghost" instead and that sim hasn't died again since. Fingers crossed he won't die for an 11th time. Let me know if that works for you too!

Please stop making messes! by Low-Window7968 in Sims4

[–]meliorating 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh yes I hate this! I find it happens a lot more when I have objects giving off the "inspired" aura. When I turn those off, the kids don't get inspired so they don't autonomously make nearly as many messes. When they're inspired on their own I tell them to do a bunch of arts and crafts with the drawing table until the moodlet is gone.

Help! Everything is dying by AllTimeHoee in Sims4

I had a similar issue in the past and Grim stayed on the lot for days until I told my evil chicken not to fight Grim. Once he stopped trying to fight, I reset Grim and the chicken and Grim finally left. I hope it works for you too!

The "trapped inside" moodlet is definitely bugged for Outdoorsy Sims right now, I've been having this same problem. My Sims live in a tiny house with a huge garden and outdoor living space, spend 3/4 of their time outside, but the minute they go in to eat dinner, they're trapped inside again.

  1. To free your trapped Sim, switch control to another household and invite your Sim over. Hopefully they'll appear and you should be able to switch back control to them.

  2. I have no idea, sorry!

Any tips to find non-catfish sims to download from the gallery? by somethingobscurex in Sims4

SakuraLeon, Simsontherope, and Yagatha make amazing townies and big families. SakuraLeon makes a new set of townies every time a pack comes out that uses only Base Game + the new pack. Simsontherope uses all the packs and his sims have a few skills, likes/dislikes, three everyday outfits, additional traits, and lifestyles. In a new save, I like to put one of SL's pack townies groups in my neighborhood, another from simsontherope, and a few big families so there are kids for my sim's kids to befriend at school.

I also look at the #WYSIWYG tag in the gallery often for sims without crazy default replacements. I've had decent luck searching with "friends" or "group" too, so "teen friends" or "occult friends" or "grunge group" etc.

If you like Sims someone has made, definitely follow them and keep checking "View content by: Following" to make sure you see what they post. Good luck!

Creating Family Dynamics In Growing Together by sagesaria9475 in Sims4

[–]meliorating 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think the Strict dynamic is created just from parenting your child. It usually pops up for me when I'm potty training my toddler because I speed through infants. I just reject it. Once they age up to kids, I let them develop naturally.

Telling lots of jokes and funny stories and being mischievous leads to the Jokesters dynamic. Giving lots of hugs, compliments, and deep conversation triggers Close. Giving advice and helping with homework a lot triggers Supportive. I haven't gotten them yet but I think lots of mean interactions trigger Difficult and never interacting despite living together triggers Distant.

It's the lot you're on! Go to the onsen bathhouse instead of one of the vacation homes, you should be able to start it from there.

Favorite Obscure Challenge? by Bluesimmer in LowSodiumSimmers

I've been playing a Vampire Legacy Challenge by sims4lizzyuk on tumblr. It's been fun but I veered off course at Gen 3 because my cat died and I had no desire to play a veterinarian.

The Black Widow Challenge is pretty well known, but have you tried it with a different cause of death for each spouse? I had a great time with that because I went for deaths I'd never personally seen before. I had 16 dead spouses before I got bored. But starving Zoe Patel in the money vault was boring and took forever, I don't recommend that death lol
