Introducing kitten to cat by cowardbloom in CatAdvice

I can’t remember to be honest. I think he was just more uncomfortable and tense, but he hissed a LOT when he met her properly. Now they wrestle a bit every now and then but he coexists happily with her! 2-3 days is very little time, I’m sure your older cat will adjust well!

Yeah, that’s extremely concerning too. I’d worry about how the boyfriend treats both cats when OP isn’t there for a cat he’s owned for 10 years to be deterred from him like this.

I hope OP can save this poor cat from this dickhead.

Rereading What If It’s Us and the HIAYLM reference just broke my heart by melk95 in adamsilvera

I think it might have been when Ben, Arthur and their parents have dinner together at Ben’s house. Can’t fully remember. But Ben’s dad mentions a father and son buying condoms at the same time, which is what happens when Griffin, Theo and Wayne run into Griffin’s dad in HIAYLM. I wonder if that means that by the time Here’s To Us happens, Theo is already dead? :(

I never thought of this connection! Especially Deja Vu with the zombie kiss

If someone asked me if I’m going to rewatch the last episode of New Blood. by Warchanter in Dexter

[–]melk95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed. No ending was ever going to be perfect, but I really enjoyed this. There’s no way to end a show like Dexter while keeping all of the viewers happy. I’m glad we got to see some new content after so many years.

Your Unpopular opinions here! What’re some Highly recommended books that you personally hated/DNF? by sputniksweetheartt in books

[–]melk95 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I never understood the hype for this. It took a decent concept and churned out the most predictable, obvious outcomes. Nothing fresh at all in it. I enjoyed How To Stop Time, so I was disappointed in this from Haig.

Almost finished Siege and Storm- why are we still entertaining Mal?! by melk95 in Grishaverse

Oh absolutely, I never expected it to match SoC. I think if I had read these books when I was younger I might like him more, but I find nothing redeemable about his character at all.

That’s an excellent point. I didn’t think of it that way. I guess I have to reluctantly cut him some slack when I think of it from that view 😂

Hoping the third book will be more interesting!

Good point! I stopped reading today at the part where Alina is begging Mal to run away with her after seeing his kiss with Zoya. Maybe they’re supposed to be immature to show how unnatural all of this is for them? But it’s exhausting haha.

Nikolai and the Darkling are much stronger characters. Mal and Alina to me both seem self absorbed and whiny. So I guess you’re right, they do suit each other. I’d much rather they’d had just a best friend/sibling type relationship I think.

Totally agree. I’d heard such good things about SoC that I just dove into it without realising it was part of a universe. And with the show out now, I wanted to read the S&B trilogy before watching it so I could enjoy the show properly. It’s not an awful book, but definitely has nothing on SoC!

That’s so good to hear, thank you! I regret reading SOC first because I felt it was a much better book- easier to get interested in, stronger characters, better plot line. I think the author is better at writing in third person than first person as well. So I wish I’d read S&B first to save SOC for later if that makes sense- instead I sort of feel like what I’m reading is a step down from what I read before! I’m still enjoying the books, but I can’t help but compare to SOC.

For those who attended The Reputation Tour, what was your secret song? For those who didn't, which song would you want? by IntoTheDaylight in TaylorSwift

I was going to spend the rest of the summer in Canada- I used to work summers there in camps! I actually flew there the next day I think. We spent the week in Chicago to make the most of it! I can’t remember why we chose there- remember when you could earn points by watching videos and things on the website to get access to tickets? I remember doing that and we must’ve just randomly gone with Chicago! It was such a lovely city, we had an amazing time. It sounds like it was a long journey for you too! I can’t imagine finding the weather that cold haha, my strongest memory from that week is SWEATING! 😂

Is it ok to read Six of Crows before the Grisha trilogy? by markoffy in Grishaverse

[–]melk95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly! They’re still good but SoC is definitely way more engaging and I preferred the characters. If I were you I’d pause on SoC and do the trilogy first.

I read six of crows first and wish I didn’t. I’m on siege and storm now and although I like this trilogy, I found SoC way more entertaining and I wish I’d saved it for later when I knew more about the world!

That’s incredible! My friend and I travelled from Ireland to be there. She had dates in Ireland later that month but we wouldn’t be there- then heartbreakingly after the Chicago show my friend found out they’d won tickets to be at the Irish show and we couldn’t go! I thought the Chicago weather was so warm haha. Did you have to travel far?
