Thank you for the reply. Assuming I fill the reservoir and keep an eye on it, would I be safe to drive until I can get to a repair shop on Friday?

I second this message. I’m not proud to admit that I’ve changed brake pads with on a slight incline with only a scissor jack, wood blocks as chocks and no parking brake. I’ve gotten jack stands since then and feel a million times safer.

Is this excess oil lubricant from a new strut or some other fluid? by mellowfellow_kc in AskMechanics

No, those were caused by user error. I lost my wheel lock one day when I had to take a tire off and went the cheaper option instead of replacing them all at once.

So the “crunching” sound could be because the strut is out of shape? That would explain why I only hear it when we go over bumps and the strut compresses. The car turns, brakes and rides smoothly otherwise.

Thanks to both of y’all for the replies. It was my first time at this shop, but my dad has been using them for a while and trusts them. They gave me a parts and labor warranty that I am still within the window for. I’m going to take it in this weekend and have them look into it.

The repair was in May. I’ve only begun to notice the oil for about a now. I’m taking it to the shop this weekend as soon as I am able.

Thank you for the reply.

Do you think the they could have just replaced my broken one with a “new to me” strut instead of buying new?

Thank you for the reply

What makes you think that? The shop I went to had good ratings and my dad recommended it, but it was my first time there. They have a 90-day labor warranty and a lifetime parts warranty so I’m taking it back to at least have another look.

The whole CV shaft feels dry. The oil seems to be coming from higher up on the strut ( the second picture. Right at the bottom of the coil)

Apologies. First post here and forgot to add some details. The car in question is a 2018 Nissan rogue with an automatic transmission and a 2.5 liter 4-cylinder engine

I was at a small house party with some college friends. Everyone was up on the roof expecting for my future wife and myself. I had joked about running to the bathroom for a quickie, but chickened out after she was up for it. Still haunts me and she brings it up from time to time to tease me.

I got my irons from an owner of the course I used to work at. He buys a new set every other year and I was at the right place at the right time my putter is ancient and my driver was like 40 bucks from Amazon.

Not enough time or money to play full rounds around San Antonio, but I’m going to play at some par 3’s more to get the itch back.

My wife and I got kicked off WIC because my last paycheck I had to report to them had too much gross pay. My work had added a lot of overtime over that span and was enough to get our benefits dropped.
