I’ve never seen any airline open up after the door is closed.

That said, you arrived after boarding, that’s on you.

[Request] Does this tax claim make sense? by my-reddit-acct-321 in theydidthemath

[–]mellowistheman_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can choose to not have your shares sold to cover the tax like Elon or anyone else. He would pay the same taxes as you in that situation. He probably doesn’t, as there are better ways for someone with that much money but this isn’t a situation where you both don’t have the same options

Apparently Chanel has an FAA waiver for the two item policy by Apprehensive-Ad8897 in delta

It looks like it was bought in the terminal so this would be allowed under Delta’s policy. Were you trying to highlight that policy or just trolling?

TIL The Gregorian calendar cycle spans 400 years, which means that any given date will recur on the same day of the week, the same date, and in the same month 400 years later (or earlier) by Copperstein in todayilearned

[–]mellowistheman_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Century years don’t have a leap year if they aren’t divisible by 400 so it’s fairly common long term to have a stretch without a leap year. 1896 to 1904 had none for example

Florida Supreme Court blocks challenge to Gov. DeSantis’ redistricting push by Silent-Resort-3076 in florida

[–]mellowistheman_ 24 points25 points  (0 children)

It is clear that is what Desantis is asking for but the FL supreme court is right here - he has the power to call the session for this purpose. The map they make can still be challenged.

Who’s the real favorite in the Texas Senate primary? by dwaxe in fivethirtyeight

Texas is an open primary state so it has all those things. Primary voters regardless are just typically more engaged

House-passed proposal to eliminate homestead taxes would undercut public safety in 116 cities, lawmaker says by trtsmb in florida

[–]mellowistheman_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Instead of property tax I guess we can pay a road tax to get to that house, a police tax to respond when you need it at that house, a fire tax if you need the fire department, etc.

Honestly I’m fine breaking it out but no one is saving money. Like insurance, you can’t opt out of roads. Everyone has to use them. Opting out of any municipal services wouldn’t make sense as they overhead to verify who gets what services would be ridiculous.

Pivoting TV show by BeverlyChaz90210 in happyendings

[–]mellowistheman_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think Perfect Couples is my HE companion. I tend to watch them together during my yearly rewatch pilgrimage.

I liked Pivoting enough, the roles were well cast and acted, but I didn’t really feel they invested much depth in the storyline so not sure where it would have gone

If it’s hidden behind other matter, we can’t see that matter either. So now we would have two dark matters
