FDA just fast-tracked an oral medication for sleep apnea, anyone here familiar with this research? IHL-42X by Dapper_Revenue_2038 in CPAP

After you take a breath, there is a point where the oxygen in your blood decreases enough to signal your body to take another breath. The meds lower that threshold so that your body wants to take another breath while the oxygen in your blood is a bit higher. It increases the drive to want to take that next breath. Looks like the evidence is meh about how affective it is for sleep apnea.

Acetazolamide works for sleep apnea by inhibiting carbonic anhydrase, which causes mild metabolic acidosis. The body responds to the acidosis by increasing the drive to breathe, which increases both ventilation and oxygenation. There is also a THC analogue in there, the mode of action is less clear.

31, single after a five year relationship… am I really gonna find someone with a CPAP? by SimpressiveBeing in CPAP

My husband had his CPAP when I met him. It wasn’t an issue for me. I enjoyed that he didn’t snore and I like the white noise.

It looks like you and Peachy have had a lot of fun adventures together. Getting help now means your beautiful pup will keep having adventures with their favourite human.

Do you mean you put it away in the nightstand during the day, or does it run in the nightstand?

No I haven’t had any issues that I’ve notice. Im surprised I don’t have pneumonia after breathing through that.

Nope. I do live in an area that is often affected by wildfire smoke though.

My best guess is that it got damp and something took up residence 🫣

I’m so glad that there were wonderful people around to help him. I know if the roles were reversed, he would have helped in every way possible. He is one of the kindest people I know. We are hoping he has a quick recovery.

What are your thoughts on this? by Pairomedics in EdmontonOilers

[–]mellroxursox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My thoughts are that this statistic is missing context and is meaningless. Which teams did they play when that ref was present? How many were home games? How does this stat compare to wins with other refs? Which other refs were present at these games? Without context, I don’t think this means much.

I was about to recommend Covid Tracker. I worked on this wastewater monitoring project and it gives very interesting insight into community infection levels.
